Default Set Sail Pass?

What is the purpose of the set sail pass? Can't Royal just type in your reservation number at the port and pull up the required info? What stops people from changing passenger names or C&A status on the pass? Seems like a security concern to me.

The purpose is to get you to put in all your pre-cruise info into the computer system before you arrive at the port. So when you arrive at the port, they scan the Set Sail Pass and all the info and preferences you already put in come up and thus you don't have to stand there and have the clerk enter it all in. It takes what used to be a 10 - 15 minute check-in time down to about 3 minutes. It makes check-in much easier and quicker, moves the lines fast and gets everyone onboard faster.

You cannot change names or C&A status on the Pass. You can only print it out after everything is inputed and it prints out a bar code on the Pass. You cannot change anything on the Pass.

Thanks for the info. So they make it look pretty, but the only important things are the bar code and the signatures?

Default Levels

It also shows what level, i.e. patinum, diamond you are in and if in a suite or not so they direct you to the correct line before check in.

They also take a photo of you as you board, so when you get off and on the ship, they scan the card and see that the correct pic is you, a good security feature..

It is your door key, ID card and Credit card while onboard.
