My husband and I going on the Monarch of the Seas on August 10th out of Port Canaveral, and we need to find the best transportation from MCO to the Port.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, has anyone used the Florida Express Bus Service? I am thinking of going that route, but would like some feedback first.
Also, if anyone has rented a car before, tell me honestly if you think this is the best way to go. I am trying to convince my husband but he is afraid they will charge us one price online and then when we get there we will be hit with airport fees etc, that would make it easier to just take a private company. So just want to get some feedback from those who have experience.
I would also check out Super Shuttle, I've seen a lot of their cars/vans down there. Also, a good idea to check out what the cruiseline charges for their transportation...I've used the cruiselines before and had no problems. The ride from the airport to pier is around 45 minutes, mostly on a highway.
My sister and I have sailed out of PC many times and the best way for us has always been to rent a car.
We use Budget and are enrolled in their Fast Break program which means as soon as we get our luggage we go straight to the kiosk in the parking garage, pick up our keys and we're on our way.
It's an easy drive to PC, although it is on a toll road, but Budget cars are equiped with the autopass thingy so you don't have to stop to pay the toll.
We always fly in a day early and even with driving around a bit we're still way under the 75 mile limit so don't have to pay any mileage charges.
On embarkation morning we fill the car up (usually less than $10) and go drop it at the Budget place that's right on A1A. They shuttle us to the pier and we usually arrive at the pier by 10:30am.
I too would suggest renting a car. It was much cheaper than any shuttle service. Rent one too and fro for the price that you'd pay for a one way shuttle ride. The rental car place has a free shuttle to the pier.

I used travelynx. they were great; picked us up at airport, stopped at a walmart to do some shopping, then dropped us at port. They picked us up a week later and took us back to airport.
