Vacations to Go is a reputable agency. I booked a cruise, many years ago, with them and had no problem.

A couple of things to know:

1. Their prices are the exact same that any other agency can give you.
2. Don't be taken in by their 80% off "90 Day Ticker". This is based on the "Brochure Rate" and the current price. No one pays brochure price on a cruise.

They are a legitimate agency and have good agents and some not so good. Just like any other. If you want to book with them, that's fine, but don't think they have a better "deal" than someone else.

Take care,
Mike

I always use them and never have a problem.

Their prices are identical to any other agency or site.

The site is huge and breaks down offerings into catagories.

As Mike said, their prices are exactly the same as any agent will offer you, so it's better to use an agent you can talk to, who knows you, has been on cruises, and provide personal expertise. Most of their people work in a call center and are not certified travel agents - they are just there to sell you something, not to provide you information.

And as was stated, ignore their "up to 75% off last minute cruises." They are referring to 75% off the brochure rate and to me this is false advertising because no one, and I repeat, NO ONE sells cruises at the brochure rate. Not even the mass-market cruise lines sell their own cruises for the brochure rate. Their prices are exactly the same as other agents, so they're not offering anything others can't offer you. But others can offer you better service.

So my best advice is find a reputable agent you feel comfortable with and avail yourself of their services. They'll work hard for you. Plus, should you have any problems, they have contact information not available for you and that's when their assistance can be invaluable.

I LOVE them for research, their website is awesome. But I've never booked with them. I always just find what I want and then tell my TA. They seem really reputable though.

I agree! They do have a great website for research. Makes searching for your cruise alot easier than most websites.

Default Vacations To GO

Every cruise we have taken except two has been booked with Vacations To Go and the same agent. We have been very pleased with the service with just a couple of minor follow up issues. Even on our up coming Carnival cruise the agent dipped into her pocket to give us a bottle of wine...

So funny - just yesterday I was doing research on VTG. I found several reviews with complaints, but the complaints honestly did not look legit.

I should have known to come here for the information.

The thing you have to understand about these large online sites is that most of the time when you call, you're talking to someone: 1) who works in a call center; 2) has worked there less than 6 months; 3) is not a certified travel agent; 4) has never even been on a cruise; and 5) basically knows nothing about cruising - they're just there to sell you something.

Anybody can sell you a cruise. But it always best to seek out a reputable agent who is conscientious and wants to provide you good service before, during, and after the sell. Their service can be invaluable, especially if you have alot of questions or run into any problems. They are there when you need them.

Alot of online sites are betting that many people will just book their cruises electronically and don't need any personal attention. If you don't have any problems or need any assistance, it can work well. But personally, I'd rather be able to pick up the phone and talk to someone who cares about me as a person and has the knowledge and experience to assist me than to be treated like just another number.

Yes, there are exceptions to every rule and occasionally you'll find someone at the cruise line or an online site who is very good. But the fact of the matter is they won't be there that long because it's been proven the average lifespan of these call center employees is less than 6 months. They take the job thinking it's glamorous with good pay and great travel opportunities. It doesn't take long for them to realize it's alot of hard work, the pay is not that good, and the amenities are no where near as good as they thought.
