I'm curious where it's home port will be. And what ports it will visit. I hope they open some new ports for bigger ships.

I would love for the Quantum to sail out of New York!!! Ten/Eleven day cruises from NY to the Caribbean would be awesome!!!!

Two rumors I heard from some other RCI fans: Quantum Of The Seas will be based in Cape Liberty initially, and these two ships will mark a return to solariums that can be fully enclosed, and thus usable in all climates.

After sailing on the Oasis it would great to have a ship like that based in NY/NJ. There's so much to do. Makes sense too. It would give the Breakaway some competetition!

Alot of talk that Quantum will be based out Bayonne. Explorer has been there awhile and it is still a nice ship but Bayonne is due a newer ship.

With Breakaway coming soon in NY it would make sense for Royal to have a new ship in the area also. I have to try Breakaway though at some point the shows and entertainment sounds like it is going to be top notch.

Come on Royal give us Quantum with 9 night cruises to the caribbean. I hate the itinerary that Explorer and NCL ships do out of NJ/NY....Nassau/Orlando. The 9 nighter Explorer does has a nice itinerary.

I agree Queen...

Of course it is difficult to get very far from NYC, but a 10-day cruise will get you to the Caribbean.

Or they could stop in Newport News and Charleston - two very interesting ports (especially for people who do lot live back east).

I think NY is the best bet. They are really pushing the Breakaway. Makes sense they would counter. Huge market and 3 major airports in the area.

Although unlikely, It would be nice to have an RCI ship here on the west coast. Maybe do a Panama canal cruise to the Caribbean. If one of these new ship does happen to sail from the NY area I will be happy to fly there and board her.

Where ever she lands, I plan on being on the inaugural cruise! My vote, being a Floridian now, is for here but with so many ships down here now, NY/NJ is fine with me.
There is a big push here to build up Port Canavral (45 minutes East of Orlando) with new shops, terminals and restaurants at the port, I wonder if something isn't brewing with this?????

I wonder if the Explorer would also stay in Bayonne if Quantum goes there?

Looking forward to some nice caribbean itineraries on Quantum....

I have a gut feeling Quantum will be a Jersey girl!! :D:cool::twisted:

Oasis had Rihanna on board, Allure had Taylor Swift.....Quantum should have Bon Jovi or The Boss...:p #Jerseyrepresent

I think that all ship close their casinos when in port.

I vote for Bayonne home port; Bruce Springsteen for inaugural concert; and instead of Godmother lets go with a Godfather; who better than James Bond.

Looks like Explorer of the Seas last trip from Bayonne to Caribbean is Oct 23 (9 days)

Quantum of the Seas will be calling on St. Maarten beginning in December 2014
