Hello!

Has anyone booked a category x balcony and was unhappy with their cabin? I am little worried we are going to get stuck under a pool or somewhere with a lot of motion or noise.

I have never cruised. I think we are going on Oasis of the Seas on May 11th. I am still researching.

I would book the balcony cabin you can get at the best price. Oasis is an extremely stable ship, so I would not worry about motion, but do try to avoid being all the way forward if possible (some motion up there)

Soundproofing is generally very good, but I always take earplugs with me every place I go anyway.

A category X will give you an exterior balcony. Category XN will give you a balcony that overlooks Boardwalk or Central Park "inside" the ship.

I echo Paul's advice. Book the lowest category balcony you would be happy with. If you aren't picky then go for the guarantee.
