I love your collage, you captured your Allure cruise for sure. Yes, it is always nice to mix vacations up...We just returned from Disney World last week and that was a lot of fun too...

Most of the time, we just walked on rides, kids still basically in school, so it was a lot of strollers and pre-school kids there. Yes, we stayed at the Poly. right in the park, love that hotel.

CQ, I love your pictures.

I have cruised twice on the Oasis and once on the Allure, so now it's time to cruise on the Allure again to even things out.

Question

Ok CQ, TM & Donna,

So dates are up for Feb 2015 Allure that I want to take and I've been looking at cabins. I know we want the balcony ocean view cabin and those range from cat# D1 and then D2-D8. They are all the same size although D1 states large balcony cabin it's the same size as the others? I'm going to talk with my TA but kind of wanted to hear what you have to say. What decks are best? I believe with these categories the decks are 6-14.
Any tip on cabins and locations?

I went to YouTube and looked at a few videos of the ocean balcony rooms and wow are they small . I don't know I might have too see what other cabins they have but I'm sure the price is killer.

We had a boardwalk balcony cabin. The cabin is smaller than other ships; but still was easy to get around. Storage space was good; no complaints here. View of boardwalk was great. We were on deck 10

Cabins on Royal will be alittle smaller then Carnival.....

As for cabin type and location I choose any location it really does not matter to me where on the ship I am as long as I'm on it...

I agree with AF1 the boardwalk cabin was great....

I prefer even numbers over odd.....I'm not liking my 1 on Oasis and 1 on Allure......I'll have to make it 2 and 2.

On all the three cruises we took on the Oasis/Allure we had cabins with a balcony ocean view and the cabins were quite adequate. My DW and I don't pack lightly but we had had enough space for a comfortable cruise.

I am ready for cruise #2 on the Allure.

Thanks, we too like an ocean balcony. I will be talking with the TA soon and seeing what we're interested in booking. What itinerary did all of you do? I'm not sure what one we want to do yet although I think its more about the ship than ports.

We did the West route...Falmouth, Labadee and Coz....I got off Allure for one hour in Falmouth and one hour in Coz. My Mini Me did not get off Allure at all. He stayed onboard all week... It's all about the ship! Especially if you have already been to the ports anyway.

The East route is St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Nassau.

At least with Grasshopper lovers onboard the Allure bartenders get a break from making the normal everyday drinks....Margaritas, Pina Coladas, special of the day!!!

Cruising on the allure for a second time, meeting friends having some grasshoppers, we really have to make this happen.

I took D/S for his hair cut and it just so happens one of the stylist just got back from Allure.
This was her 18 th cruise and she wasn't a big fan of it. The food was not good in the MDR and the other eating venues were only ok. She said the enertainment was good but for her there's just to much going on and didnt really have a true cruis ship feel. She did say she's glad she tried it but she'll stick with a smaller ship. I did ask her what her favorite line was and she said she really doesn't have just one. She said she's had good and bad cruises on most of the lines, this was her 5 th RC cruise and one of her least favorite although not bad.

I guess that's why there are so many choices out there, something for everyone.

I only ate in the MDR the first evening and it took way too long, so we tried the buffet and kept with that for the remainder of the cruise, food there was excellent and plenty of selection each evening. The big plus was, it didn't take 2 plus hours and we were able to see the shows....I am always ready to go on Allure again, but now we have some new ones coming along, will have to try those as well...oh, decisions, decisions...

Have no complaints on food or service in the MDR in all of the ships I have been on. Have not had "bad" MDR food or service yet.....hope it stays that way.

I can say the same thing. Of all my 16 cruises, I have no complaints on the food I was served.
None of my cruises were bad. I had fun in every one of them.
