Amazing ALLURE Of The Seas 3/24/13

What an awesome, excellent perfect cruise! I now have my favorite ship!!

We flew into FLL the day before and stayed at Days Inn FLL. No complaints it was great for an overnight stay quiet and clean with a good morning breakfest and airport shuttle.

In the morning we took a cab to the ship. Already have been on Oasis so knew what to expect with Allure. Even though I have been on Oasis Allure still had the Wow what a ship feeling.

The ship is beautifully laid out with different neighborhoods. Very easy to get around and for a sold out ship with over 6,000...1,900 of those were 6 months to 17 years old. No lines anywhere. Windjammer never had lines you can just walk right up to the food stations even in peak times. Food was very good no complaints.

Service was excellent. We had mytime dining and worked out very well. we had a 5:30 reservation however made it to the dining room between 6 and 6:15...never a wait. Our waiter called us by name on the first day dinner (embarkation) He would also ask us when we get there if we had any shows to get to if he needs to get us out quick to make a show. MDR dinners were usually 60 minutes. It was alittle longer on lobster night as everyone shows up in the MDR. Cabin stewart very good also. Crew around the ship awesome.

Entertainment and activities....this is where no ship can come close to Alllure (other then Oasis). The aqua show was amazing saw it twice once in the theater and once from our balcony. Blue Planet another amazing show. Two ice shows both excellent. The comedy show was great! Second comedian better (Phil Tag). Sat in the first row and got picked on...it's all good love a good laugh even if the joke is on me. :pLOL There was also another aqua show featuring Dreamworks characters which I missed because there were other things also going on that I wanted to get to.

There is so much do on the Allure you can never get bored. Recently cruised Carnival Breeze where there was nothing to do in the evening but drink and gamble....Allure has a New York/Vegas feel...lots to do in the evenings.

70's night is always great fun on the Promenade. And the Allure Village People where nice on the eyes....Just sayin..:)

A selection of live bands/singers in the evenings. Dazzles has an excellent band The Frontliners...love them. Blaze nightclub DJ's were the best ever spinning top dance music not ghetto rap like on Carnival Breeze.

Participated in a dance contest with a fellow cruiser and we won "Allure Dance King and Queen." We had two minutes to come up with a routine. Thanks for the fellow cruisers in the audience that voted for us!! What a fun time!

Flowrider, zipline and rock climbing alot of fun.

Promenade parades awesome!

Dance Flashmob was a blast! participated in all the sessions.
Also loved the Beyonce and Michael Jackson dance classes.

Love the Diamond lounge before dinner in the balcony section overlooking the promenade.

My Grasshoppers were great in any bar....(Cheers TM) :p

Loved the Dreamworks characters...they were out and about alot so plenty of opportunities to take pictures. My favorite is Po (kong fu Panda) I have a crush on him and made sure I got pictures of the two of us....:cool::p I stalked Po all week...LOL:-o

Captain Johnny with his motorcycle was the Captain. Alan Brooks CD who does a great job!

Met some great cruisers from First timers to Diamond Plus...

Debarkation was not bad we got off the ship at 6:50 and were sitting at the gate by 7:40. Our flight was at 9:50am and had plenty of time. We carried our own bags out which helps. Although we always take our own bags no matter what time the flight is.

Special Shout Outs.....
Antonio - for the excellent MDR service!
Claudius - for taking care of the cabin for the week!
Layla - for the awesome dance classes!
Po - for not minding while I stalk you!
DJ Power and DJ Roli - excellent music selection kept me dancing all night!
The Frontliners - Love this band in Dazzles! more dancing!!
Ana and Eric - for the service in the Diamond Lounge!
My neighbor in the cabin next door - thanks for lending me hair spray for captains night that I forgot to pack. :p
Thanks Royal for the Balcony upgrade!

I can go on and on....Thanks Royal Caribbean and the crew of the Allure for another awesome Cruise vacation!! xoxo

Can't wait to be back on Allure...hopefully soon....

Nice review. You always have a great time on cruises and it shows in your reviews. I agree that Alan Brooks can keep you laughing. He was onboard Allure when we sailed. I love the boardwalk cabins. Thanks.

Thanks for the review.

Welcome to the grasshopper club. Another cruiser, ( guess who? ) suggested that I try that drink while on a cruise.

Now when I sail I always have my share of them. :D 8-) :)

Yes, I'm leaving this Saturday. We are driving to the Rodeway Inn on Friday, so we can relax and then we will take the shuttle to the ship.

Yes Brooks is a funny guy....

I enjoyed the boardwalk cabin...watching the boardwalk below and the zip liners going by above.

I wanna go too!!! :p

thecruisequeen April 6th, 2013 07:39 AM

A few more things to add to my original post....

Is it just me? I found the bathroom sink to be so low and I'm not a tall person. The sink height is perfect for a 8 year old.....

The first cruise I was called down to the Naughty room! I guess one of my suitcases scanned as suspicious on Embarkation. Had to open the suitcase while they check it out all went well. It must of been the shampoo/conditioner/perfume/liquid glitter/makeup :-o For the record I never did or never will bring in booze.....I'm on vacation I'll buy drinks onboard.

Noticed more Tipsy and Drunk people then ever before with the start of the Drink package. I guess cruisers are thinking "well I paid for the booze package I might as well get my monies worth and drink everything in sight"

There was a woman I would say in her early 60's that was drunk every night. I spoke to her and she did have the drink package. Drunk people can be fun to watch. Know your limits! I'm on vacation I'll enjoy my Grasshoppers but I know when to stop and how many I can handle in a day. Everyone has their own magic number...stop when you hit your magic number before getting to the tipsy and drunk stages.

At least none of the drunks were getting behind the wheel. :)

Off to work  I'm still in cruise mode I may breakout into the Cupid Shuffle dance sometime during work....I hope my coworkers don't mind! rofl

CQ, I posted this on another thread but that very same thing happened to me on my Allure cruise. One of my bag weren't delivered to my cabin and I was told by my cabin steward the it was in security. It apparently scanned a suspicious object. I made my way down to the security area and I was asked for my name and seapass card. I was then asked if this luggage was mine and I said yes. The gentleman then asked for permission to open and search the bag. I complied. He went through my bag and my wife had packed a bottle of hair conditioner in it. He said ok you can take your luggage and go. Well it did give me a bit of a scare. I too would never smuggle booze on board. The little bit of alcohol I do drink I buy on board.

Yes exactly the same situation here....however to make myself clear I actually did not experience the naughty room myself......I went up to the windjammer to get food to take down to the cabin to enjoy on the balcony it was my son that had to deal with security and the naughty room. He was told to go to security by the cabin steward...which he did...He told me they opened the suitecase and went through the bag of toiteltries and was smelling stuff. My boy had no idea what was going on and why this was happening. He said he felt like he was on an episode of the tv show "locked up abroad":-o After security was done the suitcase was ok to take to the cabin. I came back to the cabin with the food and my son told me what happened I had to explain to him about cruisers smuggling booze. My son then said "why do cruisers smuggle liquor when there are many bars onboard":p He did say security was nice and polite.

I then had to explain to my cabin steward it must have been the toiletries because I never bring booze onboard. I don't want my cabin steward or anyone else thinking I'm a booze smuggler. :-o

I wish my son would have waited until I got back from the windjammer so I can make the trip to Security.

My drinking onboard is 3 drinks per day which I have no problem paying for.

A big shout out to Falmouth and the locals....Jamaica seems to get a bad rap as being this dangerous place. I have been to Jamaica many times different areas and never had an issue and actually love Jamaica. Been outside the gated areas on our own. Took cabs around, walked around never had a problem.....Not to say nothing can ever happen but I feel just as safe in Jamaica as I do in other caribbean islands.
The locals are very friendly and happy people!

Here is Delroy in Falmouth....He sells wonderful wood carvings. I bought 4 items from him. What a great guy loved chatting with him!

Once again what an awesome cruise!! What ship to cruise on next?? Decisions..decisions....

Manuel April 7th, 2013 10:04 AM

CQ, for your next ship, there are many choices out there but you are very close to being Diamond Plus, so you should stick with Royal.

Good Idea TM! Yes have to work towards Diamond Plus!

I think I still have a long way to go for Diamond Plus...:( I'll get there eventually...

May end up booking Freedom if we do our annual Universal trip this summer. Since we are already in Orlando why not add a cruise on Freedom to a 4 night Universal stay.

The NCL Breakaway looks interesting too..:oops:
