Default Oasis Takes Europe By Storm

Oasis Takes Europe By Storm
by Paul Motter

One of world's two largest cruise ships, Oasis of the Seas, will visit to Britain and Europe in the autumn of 2014

4.11.13

Just about a month ago Royal Caribbean announced that one of world's two largest cruise ships, Oasis of the Seas, would make a visit to Britain and Europe in the autumn of 2014. The line then scheduled an unusually brief transatlantic sojourn with just five cruises in total:
Sept. 14, 2014 - a 12-day transatlantic cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Barcelona with just one port of call in Malaga, Spain before the final destination, Barcelona.

Next come two seven-day cruises in September leaving from Barcelona and sailing to Rome (Civitavecchia) and Naples, Italy. A third seven-day cruise leaves from Barcelona and calls in Malaga, Vigo (both in Spain) and ends in Rotterdam.

Although details have not been announced, the ship will then spend about 15 days in a Rotterdam shipyard, to receive refurbishments and upgrades. That delays the return trip to the U.S. to beginning on October 15th.

I was shocked at how quickly the transatlantic cruises sold out. They opened them for booking exclusively by upper tier Crown & Anchor members this past Tuesday, and in just a few hours I started seeing tweets from European travel agents saying 'sold out'. Typically a transatlantic cruise is not an easy sell - especially with only one port call - so it is impressive that the Oasis still has the strength of it's uniqueness to sell out so quickly.

That is very impressive, especially when it is such a huge ship to sell out so quickly....They really are wonderful ships...

Congrats - she is a great ship. My wife's favorite (I guess she is not much of an "explorer") - really just kidding, Oasis is a fantastic cruise. I would really like to see all the Dreamworks updates & such myself.

Default Booked on Oasis for the return home

We are currently booked on Oasis of the Seas for the Oct 14th voyage home.
We lucked out in getting a Central Park balcony for $2360 for the both of us, which I thought was a fantastic deal! I am sure most of the ship will be almost full of crown and anchor members like myself who LOVE the idea of Oasis in Europe!

We are booked on the Sept. 1/14 TA to Europe. I'm not sure why but just couldn't resist. I've done the Allure and I have many clients who love both of those ships. I waffle so much I'm confusing myself.

No matter - I had to grab an OV balcony when they were released to C&A members. I see the price has gone up over a grand a person now.
