Wasn't the original Studio B idea to have passengers be able to make their own videos and song recordings outside the ice rink? I forget now since it is really just a sports bar most of the time on the ships such as the Freedom class.
Yes - that is right.
I am the editor, but I also speculate, ask questions and play devil's advocate. I reserve the right to change my mind.
My first thought as well, was that, cruise ships are becoming floating amusement parks, and trying to be all things, to all people.
I think what bothers me the most is that this "Eye" is such an ugly pimple, and takes away from a ships profile and the esthetics of a cruise ship, in much the same way, I thought that the shopping cart handle, was out of place on the grand Class for Princess.. I just can't see how this adds a thing, to a cruise ship.
With this electronic, social media, I'm bored in 10 minutes ,kind of world, the idea of just cruising to relax and socializing, is a thing of the past.
As was pointed out to me, one can cruise without partaking in any of these options the Quantum offers, and thinking about it, I do agree that you can absolutely have the kind cruise you choose to have, onboard.
I know i would enjoy this ship, but for us, without these attractions.
Trip, with her book & tea!

Bumper cars will be a hit..pun intended, with the kids. Adults maybe not so much.
That skydiving thing? A huge, huge winner. Long lines for that I guarantee.
The robot seeing eye thing? Looks like a prying alien life force scanning for victims. A novelty at best. Why do I want to go into a little room and look at water? Am I going to see anything out there I cant see from the top deck? My uneducated guess is they remove the thing within 5 years.

Wonder how long it will be before some nut or drunk climbs out on it on the outside and falls into the great blue deep??
Seriously, it looks a lot on the weird side and actually, anything you can see from this ungodly looking thing, you can see from the top deck, so what's the attraction? I am beginning to think like a lot of folks--RCCL is becoming , or even surpassing Carnival in a lot of this " amusement " stuff, including the design and decor of their ships.
I have had the opinion for several years that some line, probably RCCL, will come up with some type underwater pod that you can go into an see beneath the ship as it cruises along --of course, it would have to be retractable so it wouldn't interfere with the docking and home porting of the ships, but I say it is coming--when, who knows?
If I want to go to an amusement park, I don't want to be out all the travel, extra money and time involved to go on one just because it floats.
Color me old fashioned but I like a cruise ship--not a floating Kings Island or Disney World.
Just my humble opinion , which of course, means nothing to anyone but me.
