New Years Eve

I was wondering if any Royal cruisers are planning a New Years Eve cruise.

Not us - our next is a Canadian Thanskgiving cruise, and then our "usual" spring break cruise is going to be a week at an all-inclusive in Dominican.

Are NYE cruises fun? What can be expected. I'd love to do a NYE cruise.

thecruisequeen September 30th, 2013 01:29 PM

NYE cruises must be so much fun.....What ship(s) are you considering??

Manuel September 30th, 2013 04:50 PM

I did a New Years Eve cruise back in 2007 and it was a lot of fun but it was not on one of my my favorite cruiselines.
A little while ago I booked another New years Eve cruise on the Independence of the Seas.

We sail on the 29th. of Dec.

Being on a cruise for New Year's Eve is imho one of the very best nights to be on a ship.

Everyone is out and about and partaking in the fun celebrations. The mood is good, and everyone is out to enjoy themselves.

The only drawback is the rest of the days and nights during a cruise over New Years, and the fact you pay a fairly steep premium for cruising then.

On Xmas and New Year's cruises there are LOTS of people, as they generally sail OVER full, as there are lots of families; meaning lots of cabins holding 3 and 4 people.

On a ship like Independence you'll have at least 1500 under 18s, I'd bet. With that many "kids" onboard I think the other days and nights are adversely affected.

That is the way I see it. :D 8-)

Since I'm not that young I won't have that many opportunities to ring in a New Year. rofl

I haven't done a NY cruise since 2003 but I rate it as one of the best.
We usually don't go out on NY eve, prefer to stay off the roads, but
onboard we joined in all the activities - gala dinner, party up on deck, it was super.
Then NY day was spent lying around the pool with a book. Great! :)

We always go out for New Years Eve. We have cruised and been to Las Vegas.
The last three years we have celebrated here in Palm Coast, Fl., but this year I just felt like going on a cruise again.

I've done New Years out of Tampa on Radiance a couple of years ago, it was good. I'm booked on Brilliance out of Tampa for this year. Honestly, it's super reasonable; inside cabins are selling for $659pp. For a 5 night New Year's cruise; that's incredible. Good Luck!

Manuel October 2nd, 2013 01:09 PM

DiamondMember, we will both be ringing in the New Year while sailing.

I can't think of a better place to ring in 2014.

We will be on the Serenade of the Seas for our 11th New Year cruise. We've been on 2 other RCI cruises, however this will be our first with them for a New Year cruise. It's our favorite time to cruise.

Manuel October 10th, 2013 06:00 PM

ksmithcci, I will think of you as we salute and ring in the New Year. We will both be on A Royal ship.

It's hard to believe that New Years Eve is not that many days away.

We are enjoying the Christmas season and we think that this is the best time of the year.

I'm back from the Independence New Year's Eve cruise.

This turned out to be a fantastic experience. The New Year's Eve party was super and everything about this cruise exceeded my expectations.

We were very pleased with everything about this cruise. The shows were great and the food was very good as well. Every night we were up quite late because there was so much to do.

This was one of the best cruises that we have been on.

Mrs. TM loved the size of the cabin and the amount of storage space on the Indy.
