Default Decisions ~ Decisions ~ Decisions

Trying to decide which cruise to take.

Ports of call are not really an issue cuz every cruise has ports we've been to And places that we haven't been to. And we don't mind returning places. Can always go to the beach!!!

Number of ports doesn't matter cuz we like sea days. Prices are all pretty much the same. Perks are a little different. The biggy being the booze (beverage) card from Celebrity. If we have to buy one on RCI it's $$$.

We would love to get "status" on either RCI or Celebrity. At some point both! We'll have 18 nights on RCI and 35 pts on Celebrity going in to this cruise. Would love to get RCI Platinum status and we are getting close.

All 7 nights from San Juan in Feb 2015...
*Ports we've been to

Royal Caribbean
Adventure of the Seas,
A = St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Aruba, Curacao
B = Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua , St. Maarten, St. Croix,

Jewel of the Seas
C = St. Thomas, Antigua, Martinique, St. Lucia, Grenada

-------------------------------------------

Celebrity
Celebrity Summit
D = St. Lucia, Antigua St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Barbados

Anybody have any thoughts? Suggestions? Comments on ships??

Since the ports don't factor into this, I will vote for AOS.....I like that class of RCI ship,vs. Celebrity's Summit...now it it was the Solstice class, that would change.

Whatever ship you select, a good times will be had!

If you like a smaller ship feel, don't rule out Jewel of the Seas...nice size and beautiful ships/atriums....Yea, it is a tough decision for sure....Let us know which one you book....

Summit is a great ship and with the excellent Celebrity service I certainly would love to do that cruise.

I agree with others; if you have a Celebrity ship available, especially the Solstice-class ships, there's nothing better.

But I also agree with Donna in that I much prefer the Radiance-class ships to the Voyager-class ships, so I would do the Serenade over the AOS. Then again, it really depends on what you're looking for because obviously the AOS has more amenities.

I would pick Adventure of the Seas Itinerary A because of Aruba. I prefer Voyager Class and bigger.

Enjoy whichever you pick!!

I vote for double A's. Adventure and Aruba. Why? Like voyager and freedom class. Love the islands below the equator. Never have to worry about hurricanes.

To mix it up a bit, I would pick B.

The Ship is more my taste with more things to do and the stops are awesome. St Lucia you can be a Pirate for the day on a ship used in the Pirates of the Caribbean films.

But the choice is yours and all three are great choices. I can see why you put it out to us to help but there isn't a bad thing I can say about any of the three to narrow your choice. Let us know which one wins.

I have to agree with the above statement.

Thanks for the replies! I love this site! Jewel is out because my friends cruised on it this January. I think we are leaning towards the Summit becuase of the beverage card. If we had to buy them it would add lot of money to the overall cost.

We are waiting to hear from our travel agents on pricing and perks.

It came down to Royal Caribbean Adventure of the Seas (St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Aruba, Curacao) vs. Celebrity Summit (St. Lucia, Antigua St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Barbados)

I have spent several days getting quotes from a few different TA. I will never not shop around again!!! Different TAs had different bargins! Takes awhile to sort through the different quotes for different cabin catagories. Then there's the perks.

Once we added the cost of a beverage card to RCI's fare it was very close due to Celebrity's "Pick Your Perk" so that was not a factor. The AOS cruise gave us an extra day in Puerto Rico and it will cost me one less vacation day thanks to Presidents day! And I will be one cruise away from Platinum! Yahoo!

The only possible kinks will be when airfare becomes available. I don't forsee a problem but you never know...
