On land or on the sea I always dine early. It makes easier to deal with a little health issue that I have.

I'm sure that we will make this a fun cruise no matter what time we get to eat.

Time does go by fast.

I do enjoy having a cruise booked. It's something pleasant to look forward to.

I agree, Manny.

We've done last minute cruises, but feel like we are rushing around trying to make everything happen and then when we get on the cruise, we never really get the chance to relax because we're still in 'panic' mode. Whereas when we book many months ahead of time, we're able to casually and thoroughly plan everything so by the time we leave on the cruise, everything is calm and we're able to just relax and enjoy the cruise more.

And contrary to what many people think, waiting for those 'last minute specials' to lower the price doesn't always happen anymore. In fact, often waiting will have the opposite affect. Case in point, the price of this cruise has already gone up.

After this cruise I'm taking mostly land vacations so I might not cruise again until 2018. I Already have my January 2017 planned out so maybe a Princess cruise in 2018.

We're looking at San Antonio , Price Edward Island & Playa del carmen for a few land vacations. I know for D/S college graduation we're planning an Alaska cruise , so many places so little time. When we were in BVI there was this small cruise ship that grabbed mine and my cruise partners attention so this is something new to investigate.

We were in Prince Edward Island in 1976 .At the time I thought it was one of the most beautiful places on earth.
We returned in 2013 and it was still a wonderful place .We met residents who relocated there from NYC after retirement.

A few years ago a friend of mine who lived in San Antonio said that was the best place to live in this country .

Our Alaska land and cruise trip was fantastic .

Having done the Paul Gauguin in Tahiti, I can tell you that out of 48 cruises on 11 cruise lines, that was absolutely the best cruise we've ever done!

I remember us talking about it Pete. After seeing this small ship in BVI and looking at you signature to find the name of the line I looked it up, It does go to BVI so I wonder if that's what it was. I was eyeing the Tere Moana departing
ST Maarten to Colon, Panama but there was another itinary that dosed the BVI and I could do that again in a heartbeat. After going on the private charter a nice small ship gets you into all the places most never get to go.

Yep, that would have been the Tere Moana, Paul Gauguin's other ship. It a yacht they bought a couple of years ago. We saw here in Colon Panama a couple of weeks ago when we did our partial Panama Canal cruise. Had we known it was there before we left port, we would have gone over and see if they would have given us a tour. Would have been nice to see the inside.

I'm sure most of us will arrive the day before , any thoughts as to were you'll stay?
Manuel.....do you drive down a day early?

We've always stayed at the Roadway Inn but not sure at this point. I did laugh , when I looked at their rates it was $239.00 a night....we all know that's just crazy for that place. I'm sure it's just because it's so far away and it will go down to its normal rate.

I'm thinking of going to Tampa for five days before the cruise and then take the train or maybe fly to FLL on Saturday. I have lots of time to figure it out but as you can tell I'm a planner

Robin, I will drive to Ft. Lauderdale a day early. It's a four hour drive
from Palm Coast.
I do stay at the Rodeway Inn because they give you free parking and free a shuttle to and from.

When I used to fly we would stay at the Best Western Oceanside Inn. It's right on the beach.
If you fly in five days early, there is a lot to do in Ft. Lauderdale as well.

I like people who plan ahead.

We decided to book a resort in Palm Beach Shore pre-cruise . We will be going down early Thursday and drive to port on Sunday morning. Too good of a deal not to do so we decided to just do it. I'll be very happy to start enjoying the warm Florida weather pre-cruise , after all it will be Febuary !

Manuel.....is the in your neck of the woods?

At this difficult time, It certainly lifts my spirit to have this cruise to look forward to.
It will be awesome to meet some cruisemates for the first time and to re-connect with others.

In the mean time I have to endure open heart surgery and recuperate from it.

What better way to celebrate having recovered from this ordeal than to have a few drinks on the Allure with some wonderful people.

I'm being positive and plan to be well enough so that I can enjoy this super cruise.

Sadly, I'm not going to be able to go on this cruise. A schedule conflict has come up that I can't avoid.
