I agree with all of the above posters. However, have some form of acceptable ID when you use them ashore. I use my passport.
I've pretty much always been asked for ID, when using T/C's.

The ferry will be the least expensive and probably just as fast as a taxi from King's Wharf. It will also be a great view of the island. You can take a bike on board, I'm pretty sure.

nightnurse - Bringing wine on board Princess is no problem. We were just on the Golden out of San Juan. In fact you may bring on bottled water, soda/pop/soft drinks (depending on your locale - LOL)....

You can purchase approved TSA locks for the flying part. This is a combination lock that has a feature that allows TSA to open the lock, inspect and relock the bag. We just used them this past week...
