Re: Re: St thomas excursions to St John's

Hubby and I did a daysail with Captain Jim on the Jester back in September of 03. Easily the best day of our vacation and in the top 10 of my whole life, that's how good it was. www.sailjester.com...

Re: DAY CRUISES-ST THOMAS-

Went on a half-day sail with Jester back in September to St. John's for some private beach snorkeling. Hands down the best day on that vacation (and probably other vacations too!) that I have EVER...

Re: Re: TA says don't believe info about onboard credit ...

Hubby and I booked through an on-line agency who had very good prices....a couple of weeks before the ship sailed Carnival's price was actually lower than our booking rate, so we called the TA and...

Re: Dominican Republic - Powerboat Pure Adrenaline Tour

I did the Saona Beach catamaran which included the powerboat tour in it. I think that was my favorite part of the whole excursion - being on those speedboats out in the ocean. It was a lot of fun,...

Re: Re: Domican Republic

I reviewed this port in my 8/31 review of the Paradise, and many others have as well - ifyou go to Ship Reviews on the top menu and select "Reader Reviews," then navigate to the Carnival...

Re: Re: Passion Island ???

I also did this excursion and it was very nice. Plenty of time to swim, relax in a hammock, and EAT! The food was excellent, and overall it was a very relaxing afternoon.

Re: Re: Price reduced after purchase?

Sunshine - it sounds like you are in a similar situation to what I was in a few months ago - and we did manage to get the credit but it took some wrangling. We booked through an on-line TA because...

Re: Re: Re: Paradise going up in smoke?

I will not be cruising Carnival after this change - or taking any other cruise unfortunately. It's not out of anger at Carnival, in fact I'm grateful they gave me such a fabulous opportunity to...

Re: Re: seating on carnival

Age, and usually couples are with couples, singles with singles. My husband and I got married at age 22 (a little younger than average), so every time we cruise we're put at the honeymooners table...

Re: Re: Other suggestions for non-smoking

Smoking on one side of the ship only - and this should include at the pool, cabins, etc. and should be VERY well explained and marked. I know a lot of ships have this rule "theoretically," at least...

Re: Re: Re: Sad day for Paradise Cruisers

This is terrible news. While my husband and I had a great time on the Sensation in 2001, the only reason we decided to cruise again was due to the smoke-free environment on the Paradise. No, Ken,...

Re: Re: Carnival Tour or on Our Own - St. Thomas

On our September cruise my husband I booked with Jester Sailing for a 1/2 day snorkel to St. John. We were really glad we did, because all the Carnival tours were cancelled due to a hurricane 200...

Re: Re: Dining room times

On my two cruises I've had the latest seating when I requested late (8:30) and the earliest when I requested early (5:45). On our first cruise our TA suggested late so we could spend every minute we...

Re: Re: Re: teen message boards-YIKES!!

Wow, Liz, you have a pretty limited experience if every kid you know who isn't allowed to drink drinks anyway. My parents did not drink and hence I was not allowed to drink, and guess what...I...

Re: Re: Re: Price drop/on board credit question

Our category dropped by $50/person a week before we sailed. We called our TA who said that only Carnival could authorize on-board credit and if we really wanted it we should talk to them.

So we...

Re: Re: Radisson-Miami Downtown

I stayed at the Radisson before my 9/1 cruise on the Paradise, also bid $35 on priceline. I thought it was a great value for the money. We had a king-sized room and all the rooms I saw had a giant...

Re: Re: St. Thomas

Carnival is very organized about this. On our cruise on the Paradise we only waited in line 20-25 minutes to clear customs.

Re: Waterslide

Yes there is but I don't know the exact height. Just that my friend's 2 year old was not tall enough (but this was on one of the bigger, multiple-deck ships, maybe the smaller ones are different).

I did a detailed review of this port in my Paradise Review on the "Reader Reviews" page. This port is different from every other one I've been to - nowhere near a city, just a giant parking lot and...

Re: Re: Smoky, smelly cabins

Has anyone heard any movement toward having non-smoking cabins on one side of the ship, smoking on the other? I've often heard that what MichelleM says is true and having more non-smoking ships is...
