Re: Costa Maya , Mexico ?

I just got back from Costa Maya. Took a taxi out of the port to Majahual and spent the day on the beach there. Very rustic, but lots of locals trying to sell you stuff. You can get massages on the...

Re: BEST PACKER EVER

I'm sure glad I don't have to fly; it's about a 4-hour drive to the Port of Tampa.

My wife and I are in Tampa right now, boarding the Miracle in just a couple of hours. We've got 4 big suitcases,...

Re: Is Cayman accepting ships???

I thought GC was only going to be accepting 2 ships per day for a while?

Re: Cayman Islands

Unfortunately, the odds seem good of getting another day at sea rather than another port. At least that seems to be how it has gone so far for most Carnival ships that haven't been able to get to GC....

Re: Who Did You Book Your Carnival Cruise Through?

I didn't find *better* pricing direct with Carnival, but the pricing was the same was what a number of TA's offered. It was slightly higher than some, but not so much so as to persuade me to go...

But doesn't the ship's time match the local time?

Re: Who Did You Book Your Carnival Cruise Through?

Booked mine direct with Carnival. It being my first cruise, I just didn't want to take any chances (nor did I need the services offered by a TA). I found Carnival's direct rates to be competitive.

I've read elsewhere that they'll bring you more for the asking, like Themomtk said.

Re: ROLL CALL FIRST SAILING OUT OF TAMPA NOV 7TH MIRACLE

I have one of those, too, on the 7th. Which one will you be in?

I'll be in 8268. So if that's yours, keep it clean. No cigarette burns on the carpet!

Re: ROLL CALL FIRST SAILING OUT OF TAMPA NOV 7TH MIRACLE

I'll be there.

What's more, I'm optimistic that we'll make it to GC. A number of tour operators there have said they're taking reservations for excursions starting on November 1st. Since we're not...

Re: Grand Cayman Islands

Mike - Carnival is currently still saying Miracle's 11/07 cruise will stop at GC.

I also notice that Island Marketing (http://grandcaymancruiseexcursions.com/) is accepting reservations for...

Re: Grand Cayman Islands

Carnival's site still shows the Miracle at GC on November 9th. But that doesn't really encourage me because (A.) they've tended to wait until the last minute to tell people about itinerary changes...

Re: Grand Cayman Islands

According to several GC tour operators, they're hoping to be open late October / early November.

I've got my fingers crossed that they're open by November 9th, which is when I'm scheduled to be...

Re: Jeans?

As Yuyi mentioned, jeans are not in Carnival's list of suggested attire for the dining rooms--even on non-formal nights.

Re: Tipping for room service

Not much, as I understand it. Basic sandwiches and stuff. I had hoped to be able to order nice big breakfasts in the mornings, but apparently it's not to be.

Re: My Sensation cruise was like being trapped at Wal Mart f

So, I notice the tendency for some folks on this board (and I'm truly not singling out any one person--I've seen it done by numerous people) to blame the cruiser when a good time isn't had. That's...

Re: Help!~ Cruise attire question

I'm not sure why you keep bringing up formal--I didn't, in my posts. We're speaking strictly of non-formal nights.

I think you and I are looking at two different areas of Carnival's Web site. The...

Re: Help!~ Cruise attire question

Here's what it boils down to:

1. Carnival's Web site says that men should wear "sport shirts and slacks" on non-formal nights.

2. Jeans are not "slacks." Therefore,

3. Jeans are too casual...

Yes, that's correct. But the definition I gave ("sport shirts and slacks; dresses; skirts; pantsuit") is what it means on Carnival's...

Re: Re: Help!~ Cruise attire question

"What does CASUAL resort wear mean to you."

It means exactly what Carnival says it means: "sport shirts and slacks; dresses; skirts; pantsuit."

Are jeans "slacks"? Not by my definition.
