I can speak from our two trips, two to Hawaii,...

I can speak from our two trips, two to Hawaii, and one to Tahiti. I know my limits. Our first trip was from Atlanta to Houston to Honolulu, which was a 9-hour trip. After that, we have always...

We got off of Caribbean Princess on 4/29. We had found a "great" parking arrangement for $5.95 a day, and getting a ride to the pier was no problem. I should have know that you get what you pay for....

I was the Rude one... didn't mean to

On a trans-Panama Canal cruise on Celebrity Millenium, at our table for 6, I learned that one of our table mates worked for the same company I did. My wife would gently remind me (bless her heart)...

Re: Shore Excursions necessary?

Re: Tahiti First Time Questions

We went last year just after Thanksgiving. We were on the Windstar, I guess our biggest problem was having to schlep up the stairs when getting off the tender. When you are carrying snorkeling gear/...

Re: Luggage carts

The last few times I have flown, the airline (Delta) stated specifically that we were each allowed one carry-on that would fit under seat, or in the overhead bin, and one personal item, like a...

Re: Papeete Cruise Terminal Location

It is not an actual cruise 'terminal'. Just a dock in the open air. It is right in downtown Papeete. I would estimate that it is about 15-20 minutes from the airport

Re: great deals @ SW Airlines...

Even though SW does not fly into Atlanta, I doubt if I would use them. I've seen too many people get bumped on the 'Airline' show. Some deals are just not worth the aggrivation

Re: Travel Agent vs. yourself

My agent has booked us on 2 Celebrity, 1 RCCL, and 1 Winstar cruise. We do our own research, and when we find some kind of deal, she is very quick to check on it and get back to us. For example, when...

Re: outrageous behaviour

On our Panama Canal cruise, last April on MIllenium, we decided to go to a movie one night. We had to wait, because there was a catholic church service going on-- no big deal, but people kept walking...

Re: People who show up 1 x to dinner than never come back

My wife and I have enjoyed most of our dinner companions. Our only bad experience was not really that bad; we were at a table for 6 where one of the other gentleman worked for the same company, in...

Re: snorkel mask

My snorkle mask has prescription lenses, and cost over $200. They sent it to me in a hard plastic case, so I keep it in there at all times, and put it in checked baggage. I have too much other stuff...

Re: How do people dress?

We just got back from a Windstar cruise of Tahiti. For breakfast and lunch, it was pretty much anything goes. For dinner, we all got a little bit dressed, no ties or jackets. The ladies sure did look...

Re: Tipping and Back to the Floor

oops... well, maybe it was, $800/month. I should learn not to watch these programs at 1am. Either way, it is not big money for the assistant, and if everyone tips the minimum suggested x 19...

I can't speak for the other items, but I highly recommend driving to the Black Sand beach, Punalu'u. It is an experience that shouldn't be missed. We also drove down to South Point (although the road...

Re: Cell Phones

My wife uses Verizon, and it worked fine, although it took a few minutes to find a signal. It probably won't work too far from shore, but we used it when docked

Re: Been Thinking of Crusing to Hawaii

If there was one down side to a Hawaii cruise, it was that we didn't have enough time on any island to really see it, except for Maui, where we stayed overnight. Even with that, I wish it could have...

Re: You cant beat that memory

Our first cruise was on Carnival Jubilee, the smallest and oldest Carnival ship.

I remember it being spring break, so the ship was loaded with kids
