We just got back from San Juan and took a private tour to the gardens.
The driver took us that were ofdf the beaten path and we even had a papaya shake at a market place.

San Juan Gardens

I visited the Botanical Gardens in San Juan and found it to be a truly lovely place with bamboos and all types of Palms Trees.
There is a little confusion on how to get there but after getting lost...

If you are visiting San Juan on a Tuesday, make sure you visit Fort San Cristobal in old San Juan at 6 pm so you can see a neat folkloric show for the same $3 p/p entrance fee.

you can rent a car and go there but there are companies that offer the trail with a dip in the falls.
