Re: Buying the Cups

I have the same gripe about being forced to buy the souvenir mug when buying a Coke card. I read on these boards that you can refuse the mug and just buy the card at a reduced price, but on my last...

Re: Dress codes

As a seasoned cruiser, I do know that a contract exists and I know where to find it. However, if I were a first time cruiser, I may not know that there even is a contract that I am binding myself to...

Re: Dress codes

I have never heard of a contract that is valid when both parties don't know the terms prior to entering into it. I would love to see if this "contract" would hold up in court.

You can't "take it...

Re: Dress codes

Also, not everybody signs all the paperwork at checkin. On my last cruise, the only thing I personally signed was for my shipboard account. My sister had booked the cruise and she may have signed...

Re: Dress codes

And if I don't agree? Are they going to give me a refund? Sorry, but any contract that is "agreed" to only AFTER it is too late to get a refund is NOT a valid contract.

You can't tell somebody...

Re: Shorten dinner time

I don't see why some people seem to think that anything less time consuming than what we have now is equivalent to McDonalds. I have eaten in many very nice restaurants that could put the cruiseship...

Re: Dress codes

I don't think so. I contract is only legally binding if it is SIGNED. Printing it in a brochure without any acknowledgement from me that I have even seen the brochure does not bind me to anything. ...

Re: Dress codes

I'm a little confused because I keep reading people referring to a contract between the passenger and the cruiseline whenever certain subjects come up (rules, missed ports, cancelled cruises, etc.). ...

Re: Age questions on RCI

I would like to know what would happen if a 20 year old went on a cruise WITH his parents and then was injured or got sick during the cruise. Who would be in charge of making medical decisions for...

Re: Shorten dinner time

That's not exactly true, Jim. You can only eat it as fast as they serve it. Since they tend to have a set schedule of time between courses, there isn't much you can do to rush things. It's even...

Re: Shorten dinner time

I agree 100% with browezilla! My family has skipped out on the formal dining room in favor of the buffet for years because we hate those long dinners so much. Heck with the children, they do just...

Re: Family Dining Hours on Board

td, that sounds like a nice idea, but how would it work when the number of families with children and without are not equal. On some cruises there are many children onboard and the "family" dining...

Re: Dress codes

You're right, Kuki, with a dining room split into a dressy casual side and a formal side, there would still be some who showed up in cutt-offs and t-shirts. But they are likely the same people who...

Re: Dress codes

Desiring to dress casually does not mean that you intend to show up in cut off shorts, tank tops and flip flops. Why does it have to be one extreme or the other? There are plenty of dressier casual...

Re: Dress codes

They could easily ask at the time of booking who would like "formal" seating and who would like "casual" seating and then divide the dining room up accordingly.

I actually prefer the buffet to the...

?? Princess Alaska Cruisetour Meals

I'm way confused on meals on the Princess cruisetour pre-cruise. Can I get details from someone who has done this? Are meals included or an option. Are there choices? Different locations? I have...

Re: Enforcing dining room dress codes

The problem with Celebrity is that they offer a nice sit-down casual alternative but then expect you to stay confined to the Lido Deck for the rest of the evening since they expect the dress code to...

Re: Age questions on RCI

For the cruiseline to require a parent's authorization for medical care for a 20 year old is a bit ridiculous. I would bet that this was an overzealous boarding agent who was confused about RCCL's...

Re: Family Dining Hours on Board

An adult dining room may work if the cruiseline has enough demand for it. I believe that some of the cruiselines already set a minimum age for their extra-charge restaurants. I don't thing forcing...

Re: Last ngt buffet closed, why?

We have tried the dining room and found it just isn't for us. Prior to cruises offering other options for dinner, we had to eat in the dining room every night and it was one of the things that my...

Re: Last ngt buffet closed, why?

The dinner time waiters at the buffet may also work the breakfast and lunch shift in the dining room. I never eat in the dining room, so I certainly wouldn't know. However, I still believe that it...

Re: Last ngt buffet closed, why?

I know that all tips are SUPPOSED to be pooled. However, since I give them very discretely and since, unlike in the main dining room, nobody expects me to be giving my waiters tips, and, therefore,...
