Re: To Tux or Not to Tux

Reverse myself. Wonder is the dirty shirt ship. Magic goes to the eastern and western carib and does have a formal night with the Captain. Tux if you have one and are comfortable wearing it,...

Re: To Tux or Not to Tux

Again, and again, and again. There is no formal night on Disney Magic. Say it again, there is no formal night on Disney Magic. Disney Wonder is a different story. However, there is no formal...

Re: Ocean View vs. Interior?

Craig

We don't get our money's worth from a verandah because we spend most of the time out of the room.

Pluses -
+ Floor to ceiling view.
+ Private place to sit, although you are separated...

Re: Ocean View vs. Interior?

The party crowd who use their room to bathe (hopefully) and change clothes do fine in an inside. They spend their waking hours around the pool or in one of the watering holes.

Others who need a...

Re: any car rental co in port everglades

A lot of the hotel/motels in FLL will provide transportation to the port. Some will let you park your car during the cruise, provided of course you spend the night.

Re: tendering

HAL can use its own lifeboat/tenders to move people ashore. Surprisingly roomy and comfortable.

Suite dwellers get preferential treatment going and coming.

Others, at least on the cruise I...

Re: Formal Night - Tux Needed?

Magic is an extension of the theme park, including mindset. The ship considers itself lucky if you take a bath, let alone put on a jacket.

Wonder is a real cruise with a Disney flavor. They do...

Re: HA Category B Guarantee

Go to HAL website and fill out the immigration form. The completed form that you can print to use in place of the form in your documents will show the cabin presently assigned to you.

Another way...

Re: can we bring wine on board?

I tried taking one of the splits from our Bon Voyage basket to the dining room. Still $15.

Re: Conch Train/Trolley

You get a better speil on the train. Good for first time orientation, then use the trolley to go places. You can walk nearly anywhere worth going. Be sure to stop often and hydrate.

Re: Formal Night - Tux Needed?

Not only no, but hell no.

There is no formal night on Magic. Each dining room has it's own dress code, sort of. Triton is the most formal and asks for jackets and no jeans. Read my Magic...

If you really want to enjoy Key West, wait until the ships leave.

Re: space bags

If they can't get you bag shut, they simply wrap it with strapping tape and toss it on the conveyor, same as when it pops open because the over burdened lock broke.

Re: need advise - irons

They would rather you not iron in your room. If you should set the ship on fire, so would everyone else.

Re: Tipping Policy??

My only problem with HAL's tip if you want to policy is that without any guidelines or a statement of industry standards, some who would like to leave an appropriate tip have no idea where to begin....

Re: Castaway Cay & Night Care

Castaway Cay is a whole lot more than sand and rocks. More like Disney does a small island.

Massage in private cabana overlooking surf is absolutely decadent.

Would take your own snorkel,...

Re: From airport to Cruise ship-HELP!

Most staterooms on Disney have small "beverage coolers". You can save some money by bringing soft drinks with you.

No, you're not supposed to and yes, everyone does it.

Re: Locking luggage?

I bought a tiny pair of wire snips, often called dykes, at a hobby shop. Haven't been confiscated so far and work fine cutting wire ties. Otherwise, a pair of fingernail cutters will work fine.
