Whether they announced it or not - it is still chintzy and unwise.

I have no reason to work toward being a diamond therefore for an additional discount.

Frees me up to go on other cruiselines...

Of course, there are much less expensive cabins, from interior to oceanview are better bargains, but I'm after the 2 points for the jr. suite
to become a diamond.

starting next year they will not credit both stock shares discount AND platinum/diamond discount which they do now.

That's funny - perception is everything I guess. The worst cruise I ever had was on Carnival - the carpet was moldy and I'm allergic to mold - the food in the dining room and anywhere was way below...

I always took a balcony before, even as a solo traveler....now if I have to go solo I wont go and pay the double fare.

And for the first time I am considering inside cabins as a way to save money....
