I have sailed the Victoria & Atlantica and will soon be sailing the Med. I sailed Carnival Glory in Feb- 04 and did not think it was anywhere near as good as Costa. The food was no better or worse. I...

Would it be a good idea to tip the room steward say $20.00 the first day to get better service and maybe the waiter too? Should I tell them there will be more coming at the end of the cruise or just...

Re: Let me explain this to you about Costa

I have sailed on the Atlantica and the Victoria and had a wonderful time. The lack of english speaking crew can be a little difficult. I have traveled Europe and what we Americans concieve as rude...

Re: Paradise going up in smoke?

You people are a wild bunch- I for one never smoke in non-designated areas. Do you have a problem with areas that are designated for smoking or are you saying 25% of the population (smokers) do not...

Re: Paradise going up in smoke?

Maybe they should have smoke only ships because I'm sure smokers would have no problem paying extra to smoke. But I doubt too many non-smokers would pay extra to not be around smoke. Going two hours...

Re: Paradise going up in smoke?

To JeanS,

I really don't appreciate your comments. I was making a point that smokers are treated like a lower form of life. Even if I didn't smoke I would not whine about those that do.I can't...

Re: Paradise going up in smoke?

Ready to go,

If I had issues with smoke I would not be around it either. But bars and casinos besides ships are about the last place smokers have to enjoy themselves. I think the Paradise was a...

Re: Carnival Elation - Just returned -- Thumbs Down

My advice for better than average service is to tip the waiter & cabin steward at least $20.00 the first time you meet them and service couldn't be better. You shouldn't have to do this but I think...

Re: Formal attire for gentlemen

Atlantica's catalina island was one of the best stops. We were waited on hand and foot and I even had a massage on the beach. It was one of the most relaxing fun days of the trip. How could you not...

First of all, let me say I am a smoker. That said. I can't really understand what the big deal is with cigarette smoke. I gave up smoking for quite some time and it didn't bother me when someone...
