Re: Parking for Dawn

Craig,
You can actually park on the roof of the passenger ship terminal, and ride an elevator down to the embarkation floor. I've never parked there, as I live in NJ and take a taxi, but I...

Re: United States

I read that it's going to be mechanically overhauled in the US (in one of the gulfcoast states, I believe), then sent overseas for a complete refitting.

Re: QUESTIONS ABOUT DAWN

Kol,
"Freestyle" means dining where you want, when you want. My family and I cruised on Carnival two years ago and had assigned seating. The problem was that we had an assigned table at an...

Re: Dawn Main Dining Rooms

No Fred, reservations are not required in any of the main dining rooms - that is the gist of "freestyle" - go where you want, when you want. You do, however, have to make reservations for the...

Re: NY Departure Dawn?

I've heard mixed reviews about the mini-suites vs regular balcony rooms. My understanding is that the only differences between the two is the minisuite has as full size sofa vs a loveseat in the...

To Luisa: Traveling w/ Infants

Hi Luisa,
Thanks for your encouraging comments. We are thinking to cruise NCL Wind starting August 3 since we will be visiting Vancouver for a family wedding earlier that week. Do you think that...

Re: price adjustment

It's my understanding that this is the policy with all cruise lines. You may, however, be able to upgrade your cabin to a higher class. Ask your TA, and if you get nowhere, call NCL directly. Good...

Re: obstructed view???

I don't know that the Star has any obstructed view. You can go on NCL's website and look at the deck plan; usually obstructed view has its own category, so you can see exactly on the ship where it...

Re: Re: Norwegian Dawn on 5/18/03 (RT from NYC)?!

Warren,
I guess when I went on nypst's site I clicked on the Sundays that had 6 ships (I didn't check all). Also I don't remember seeing the QE2 as one of the ships either, so maybe things have...

Re: Norwegian Dawn on 5/18/03 (RT from NYC)?!

Warren,
I saw your other thread; the only thing is that I looked on nypst.com and there are 6 ships in port every Sunday for nearly the whole summer. Even if they had to trade off which one docked...

Re: Re: Norwegian Dawn on 5/18/03 (RT from NYC)?!

Hi, Michelle,
I've sailed out of NYC on both Carnival & NCL. It took a couple hours getting on the Carnival ship (the Victory) vs. less than 30 mins from cab to stateroom on NCL (the Sea). All...

Re: Galaxy - Baltimore

To add another opinion, I prefer a day at sea to a day in port. There is nothing more relaxing then being in the sun on the open sea. As far as leaving from Baltimore, why would I want to pay...

Spirit 3/8/2003

I was on the Spirit on the week on 3/8/2003. The cruise was good but the band that was playing on the lido deck was one of the worst bands I ever herd, talk about boring. I do not
know where...

Re: anyone cruising april 3 on infinity

Truly an awesome sight. Good sightseeing along the way. Even though it's an 8-9 hour trip, it's nicely broken up with the volcano first, lunch with shopping opportunity, and then another great place...

Re: Ugh...Carnival booked us crummy flights!

I have not booked my flights with Carnival in years because if I book the flights myself I get
the time I want and in most cases a lower fare then booking through Carnival.

Re: Re: Re: Carnilal left without us!!!

I've been on 17 cruises and I flew down the day before the sailing date for almost all of them.
I think going down the day before the cruise is the best way to go especially if it is the winter.

Re: Carnilal left without us!!!

What you want to do is fly the day before the cruise if you book your own flight, if
you had booked the flight with Carnival they have to get you to the ship or they will wait for you.

Re: Meet On Board

I think meet on board is a cool way to meet the people you will be spending your cruise with,
we are on the same ship so we might as well get to know each other.

We were on the "Sandwiched" Infinity Cruise

and it was great. I define the sandwiched cruise is the sailing on January 5th from San Diego to Fort Lauderale. Many of the crew told us of the horrific experience of the holiday cruise and all the...

Re: WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

If I cruise in the winter I always go day before and spend the night, usually in South Beach, then jump on the ship the next day.
