Laundry rooms have been removed from all NCL ships. The do offer an all you can stuff in a bag laundry special every cruise.

There are 4 lanes of bowling on the Gem.

You don't need a cabin mate. The Studios carry no single supplement and it would cost twice as much if you added someone to the cabin. Now if you want a balcony a cabin mate would be a good idea.

Almost every good policy covered the ash issue as long as you purchased it before the problem began. No different then coverage from a hurricane if you buy insurance after it has been named.
