NCL "Sea" 4/23-30/05

Anyone else booked on this cruise?

I have a few questions for anyone having been on this ship before:

1. Do you know if there are shuttles from Houston Hobby to the Port and the approximate...

Re: Is Celebity better than Carnival?

I didn't discover this board or any other ones till after our first cruise, but already had a negative impression about Carnival from articles about cruising. When we decided to do something special...

Re: Help needed with choosing excursions ! ( Galaxy )

We are sailing the 11-day Galaxy to PC in Feb. We have been to Cozumel and Grand Cayman before on our W. Carib. with Explorer. I don't know yet what excursions are available through Celebrity, but...

Re: What to do in Miami?

RCI ships out of Miami usually sail at five and you have to be onboard no LATER than 4:30. You can usually board around noon or 1. I don't know what ship you are taking, but the cruise line would...

Re: snorkeling in st. john/st.marteen

We went to Trunk Bay last Feb. DH can't snorkle due to eye problems, but I loved the snorkle "trail" and clear water. He relaxed on the beach while I snorkled and it was the best of both worlds. ...

Re: explorer of the seas

We took the Explorer on our first and second cruises and it's the ship that got us hooked on cruising. When we walked up to it on the pier, our jaws dropped. It so huge and beautiful, inside and...

Re: what nights are formal nights on AOS

Island lover, we did that itinerary last Feb. and it was wonderful. The Adventure is a sister ship to our beloved Explorer, so it was like "going home" again. We'll probably do the otherAdventure ...

Re: Mayan Ruins - Xunantunich or Tulum?

In Jan. 2003, we did a W. Carib. cruise on Explorer and booked the cruiselines tour that included a visit to the San Gervasio ruins only a few miles from the pier. Very enjoyable! A woman in our...

Re: Has Anyone Had GOOD weather in Carib in Sept?

I'm sure there have been weeks with nice weather during hurricane season, but lets face it--it's like playing Russian Roulette. You're at the mercy of the weather and there's not a thing you can do...

Re: Never will cruise with RCCL again

I agree that when the coast guard says to go, you go. Considering the massive warnings for more than 24 hrs before, it should have been obvious that getting there earlier than usual was a good idea....

Re: Is the Bad Rumor about Rccl True?

Whoopy-Do! I don't eat at JR anyway. I thought about it in Feb. on the Adventure and asked DH if he wanted to try it and when I told him what they serve, he looked at me like I had seven heads. ...

Re: What to do when "at sea"

hello,

Unless it rains! On my cruise 2 weeks ago the day at sea was rainy and windy! Kinda put a damper on things!

Re: Babysitting costs?

I used the babysitting one night on the Carnival Imagination. After 10:00 it was $6.00 per hour. I'm not sure if you have more than one child though. Also, if you use Camp Carnival you are...

Re: margaritaville ocho rios

It's just a big bar in a shopping area (Island Village) near the ship. Also close to the Reggae Museum. We had a few minutes to kill on our excursion last year and went in to get margaritas. It's...

Re: E. Caribbean. cruise

We've been to St. Thomas twice. 2 years ago we took an open air tram on a tour of St. Thomas. This year we went to St. John's and Trunk Bay. It was wonderful--great snorkeling!! Before the...

Re: Passport question

Bite the bullet and get the passport. Eventually you will need it anyway, even for the Carib. Why take a chance that the rules change in mid-stream?

Re: Where in St.Thomas

We went to Trunk Bay on St. John's on 2/14. Great snorkeling along a snorkel "trail"--a series of markers embedded in the ocean bottom (less than 8 ft deep) which tell you what to look for and all...

Re: Locals in Ocho Rios

We would never go anywhere on our own in Ocho Rios. We went on an RCI excursion last year and had NO problems. The locals didn't even approach us and when we walked by the open air markets at Dunns...

Re: Water and soda... bring your own?

The water on the ship is just fine. We have used an empty water bottle and filled it up from the tap in our room to take on excursions. There is no reason for water paranoia on the ship.

Re: Adventure of the Seas Feb 8-15 (Long)

Re: Sea Sickness??

Go to your pharmacist and ask for it over the counter. It costs about $4.00. Also, on some ships they do charge for the meds.

Good Luck!

Re: Sea Sickness??

Hello,

I just cruised last week and a friend recommended BONINE. It was great! Take it about 2-4 hours before you cruise and you can take it once a day. I also gave it to my 9 year old and gave...

We were on the same cruise with Deb. Never hooked up with her, but it was a busy trip.
We flew into San Juan on Sat....
