There should be enough space for your luggage. If you can't get it all under the beds, leave one suitcase in the closet, on the sofa, chair etc. Locked of course. That is what we do.

For the "older" adults, there are many attractions within easy walking disance of the pier. The Mt.Roberts Tramway is right next to the pier, the State capitol (free tours) is only a few blocks...

If you are subject to motion sickness and get into rough weather, the best location to be on a ship is on a lower deck and middle of the ship.

As kryos mentioned, if you book your flight through the cruise line, they will hold the ship until you arrive. That happened on our Hawaiian cruise.
We had to wait departure for around 30min....

kidatheart, we applied for ours a couple of months ago, and it took exactly SIX weeks for us to receive them. There is one couple that applied the week before we did, and have not received theirs...

Kidatheart, you might as well go ahead and get one. In a short time, you can fly,travel etc. outside the USA, BUT, you will not be able to get back in the USA WITHOUT a passport.
