I found this site while looking for info on a cruise for my husband and I. I saw the singles section and thought of my dad. He and my mom divorced 3 years ago and I recently married and moved out. He loves to travel to warm places and since the divorce he has seemed so sad or in need of someone to talk to. I went to Jamaica for my honeymoon and he loves the carribian so much I thought he was going to ask to come too. Now that I'm married he's lost his travel buddy. ( we both dive) Some of the messages I read in this board were kinda creepy, but I thought by chance there might be some one else who has no one to travel with. My dad is 53, under 200lbs I'd estimate, and has an long-time job and a home in South Eastern Michigan. He is a white male married one time for 28 years. He is on the shy side but has a very warm heart. He likes the outdoors, go boating, and the peace and quiet of nature. I know he hasn't looked into cruises lately but he loves to scuba dive and swim in the ocean. I'm sure this is a long shot, he has no clue I'm doing this, but you never know.
What a lucky man your dad is to have you for a daughter. You will be interested in our website www.singlestravel.com.au
We are NOT a dating service but specialise in group tours and individual travel for singles of all ages and he is welcome to come along on any of our groups. I have very limited space on an Alaska cruise departing 3 September (might be a tad cold for diving there tho!), however if he's interested (and quick) I'd be happy to answer any queries you may have. The website is self explanatory and most of the groups are designed for both singles and couples so there may be something at some time that interests all of you. Just like your Dad, most single travellers are delighted to travel in a mixed group just so long as they are not the 'only' single on the group.
Happy New Year to you all and safe travelling
Kind regards, Judith
I have been divorced for almost 4 years and will be cruising back to back Caribbean in August of 2001. I am 49 and hope to do lots of snorkeling and scuba diving during these two weeks. Maybe I will see your dad on board!
I live in Minneapolis and been divorced 10 years, have 4 grown children, still work and like to travel. Have been on 3 cruises with my family, never a single cruise. I am a sailor having sailed Turkey, Greece, Lake Superior extensively, the East and West Coasts several times apiece.
Think your dad will go along with it?
Have lived overseas and in California and Wyoming. Want to cruise China, Alaska, Russia, or any of the Eastern Block or third world countries....
Think it would be fun.....with other people, dancing, eating, partying.
What a sweet post from 12 years ago! OK so that makes the Dad about 65 now so maybe he's retired and has more time to cruise. I'm glad I opened and read this old post and I hope the daughter and her dad are healthy and happy where ever they are now. Happy cruising to all that read this post!!!Yamaha
