First time cruising solo

Hi all, I am a 45 year old who is booking a Maasdam cruise Dec 23 - Jan 2.
This is my 8th cruise but first time solo.
Is there anyone else going at that time. For those of you who are experienced
is this a good time to go as a single. I have heard mixed reviews.
I just want to"chill out" and enjoy the sun. Can you request to sit with other singles
for dinner? How successful has it worked out for any of you?
I am interested in all comments good or bad.

Mike :

I suggest to try a Singles cruise some of the web sites ave some great ones Just go to the Search engine and type in "singles cruises' . was on one and had a blast and I'm going on another one . I met some great people from all over the crountry and I had even time to be by myself and relax . I hpe your cruise is a good one and you can ask the Matre'd to be seated at another table if you don't like the one your at .

Michael --
My partner and I wen on a New Years Cruise on the Veendam last January and found it to be very boring. There were mostly families with lots of children. I did not notie too many singles on board.
