I'm a young 49 years, love to relax & have fun, straight, non-smoker. I've been single for almost 2 years & it's time to travel! I'm open to anything cheap. I found a 2 week transcontinental trip from Ft. Lauderdale to Copenhagen with lots of stops: London, Paris, Portugal, Holland, Ireland & more on the Princess' Star Princess for under $1000 plus airfare, April 30th. Does anyone have any advice about this? I've never cruised before. Will there be any single men on board? ;-)
Wow, that's quite a cruise! I think overall there may be a real shortage of single men unless you count the one's that work on the ship. This is why I book escorted singles cruises, because I get a same sex roomate provided and you have a group of other singles to mingle with, dine with and do activitys with.
Generally speaking longer cruises attract less singles I hear then shorter ones. A normal cruise can have very few a recent solo travel said he meet 3 other singles. But you can do two things, ask if there is a singles meet party when you get on the ship, find out where and when an attend. Ask the Maitree'D if there are any other singles and if so can he please seat you with them. Crystal cruises has male dancer partners on their ships because in general there are not enough single men.
So go with the intent to travel and see the sights, and meet people perhaps couples and familys, and don't expect to meet a guy or you could be disappointed. If you want to meet other single travelers on a future cruise, read Pat Hagens singles cruise calender for a list of all the singles agencys ;and bookan escorted singles cruise one next trip. I like Vacations to Go singles, very professional company. Though most of the singles cruises go to the Caribbean, Mexico, etc.
