Default Roommate for cruises

Sylvan...I am putting 2 cruises together so think I may be able to help you. They are both going to the Carribbean. Holland America's newest ship EURODAM sailing December 13-20 and December 20-27 (includes Christmas festivities).
We are going on both cruises. We love to snorkel. Have you tried it?
We also love seeing places of natural beauty. If you'd like our help with finding a roommate and above dates work for you let me know. I am not a travel agent. We used to live in the Carribbean so are familiar with many of the port stops and best places to see. We never book shore excursions - local ones are cheaper and sometimes take private car.

Default December cruises

I may be interested in either cruise and would like to share with someone. I probably won't know until rather last minute, say, a month or so ahead of time. So if you find you need someone then, send me an email at: charlottetravel@earthlink.net

Default Where to go and what to see

I have gone to the Grand Cayams before and was wondering if you could tell me what would be lovely to see there. I did the sting ray/snorkeling thing before. Is there some nature hike/birding or soemthing else that I should see? The touristy things are just not my gig. We're also going to Ocho Rios. Love horses and thought about doing that excursion but didn't want it to be too cheesy. Any ideas?

FYI, Ocho Rios has a botanical park as I recall, near the Rolling Stone's old digs.

Default GRAND CAYMAN AND OCHO RIOS

Robin beedabird... here are some tips for Ocho Rios. First there are the Coyaba River Gardens, just lovely, and also the Calypso River Rafting.
We used trevorhudlin@hotmail.com as he was reliable and trustworthy. He took us to both places. Tell him Audrey sent you. Trevor will take you wherever you want and you could mention the interest in birds. If you had time you could go to Port Antonio where the river rafting is fantastic and you'd see lots of tropical birds, monkeys, and jungle life. Dont bother with Shaw Park Gardens - expensive and a waste of time. Caymans... well do you like to snorkel? If so, get off ship and walk left for about 5 minutes. You will come to a beach with stalls and a fish market. You can walk onto the beach and snorkel right there. Dont bother going to Governors Beach - crowded and touristy. For good rum cakes go to the Rum Factory which is in the same general area. For a neat busride continue left off ship past Margaritaville. Next street where the library is the bus stop is opposite. For a great bustour of the island take the local bus. It's only $2.50 each way or maybe a little more if you go to end of the line. Hope this helps.
Best thing to do in Caymans is snorkelling. I found shops expensive.

Default Cayman's

I took that cruise awhile ago, maybe 2005, to the Caymans and Ocho Rios -

as I remember on Grand Cayman I took the "submarine" ride which I really liked - especially the schools of jewel tone little blue fish .

Default Cruise buddies

I like to travel solo.
I am going to Fort Lauderdale on Ruby Princess 1/17/2009 and Crown Princess 1/25/2009.
I can get $50 discounts for first time Princess cruisers. You can use any travel agent.
I also found some great WEB site for cruise pricing.
Let me know if you and any friends are thinking about the Caribbean in January.
P.S. I don't want to share my cabin, just looking for people who want to dine and do water sports at the ports.
I broke off an engagement and i'm OK with being single.
I have been on a few cruises in the Caribbean to scuba dive. Love it.
Let me know

Cheers
Danny
