Richard:

Possible. The Rotterdam is the last ship in the fleet I still need to catch. I'm still looking over all her cruises and my audit, diving, scouting, and custody schedules. Typically book inside and shorter cruises. I'm a Straight DWM 51 who these days tends to day trip around the globe due to having a busy schedule.

Hi Richard:

Used to work as a supervisor for Manpower up your way a few decades back. Do they still have that spy-themed restaurant downtown with the Universal Imports door?

Sounds like you have tons of time. I'm lucky these days to fly out on a Friday to catch a ship and be back at work Monday. My long cruise days were when I first started out cruising in the late '80's. Given Rotterdam just does long cruises, that is why she became my missing ship.

I remember something about a spy themed restaurant, but not the doors. Never made it there. I have 27 yrs in with GE Healthcare here. 6 weeks vacation. Im union so I just write it the book and leave anytime. I think Im going to book within two weeks. Women are wishy/washy about these long term vacation commitments far in advance when your single. All the ports on this one are new to me. The Carribean is starting to feel like a lake to me. My sister lives in Fort Lauderdale and I can fly in two days ahead. She works at Port Everglades too.

Rich:

The doors at the restaurant up there were a James Bond touch - forgot which movie they came from. You came through them to a room with a sliding bookcase as an entry - exit was via a phone booth if I recall.

Richard:

Update: Think I'll be catching the Rotterdam for $1,939.16 for a single inside cabin on the transatlantic Lisbon-FLL a few weeks prior to your trip - more time zones, more continents, an opportunity to ride camels (will be taking scouts to do the same with our Texas Camel Corps), do some diving, and works better with the current custody schedule.

Good luck to you in your quest to catch this ship,

Dave
