Cabin mate for Zuiderdam Dec. 2010
I would like to take a Panama canal cruise from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. (round trip) but they want the full 200%. Is anybody else interested in sharing a cabin?
I'm primarily interested in just sharing a cabin, so you may only see me when I'm asleep. I'm quiet and not interested in partying.
My schedule is flexible for any date in December, but I'm thinking of the 13th.

Did you check into HAL's "share a cabin" program? I think they still have it.
Check with HAL or a travel agent. Sometimes you get lucky and have a cabin to yourself and sometimes you have a roomate. I know a couple of people who have used this program. A few times they had great roommates and other times I think they'd like to throttle them and would rather sleep in a lifeboat.

You don't say if you are seeking a male or female roommate.

The travel agent said they stopped it. I used it on my first cruise about ten years ago.

Straight males only please. I doubt if females would be comfortable with an unknown male roommate. My dashing good looks amd rippling abs are hidden under a protective layer of fat...

 No, Earl.
I'm very married.
I thought it might be helpful if OP mentioned that detail.

Hi Fla cruiser , I would not mind doing the Panama canal cruise at a later date ( maybe in the fall when it is a little cooler ) . However , I am booked for a Caribbean cruise ( Ft. Lauderdale round trip ) on HAL : Noordam in Dec. I did not have any problem in getting the stateroom at a reduced fare for a solo passenger ( I'm certainly not paying 200% ) ! I'm in south Fla. and it would be interesting to discuss future cruises with the advantages of sharing a stateroom . If interested , I'm open for discussion for HAL cruises especially , so send me an Email . Lane

I've cruised most of the carribean (NSEW) using Carnival, and was always able to get a fair price at around 150%. But I'm not really fond of them because they cater to a younger crowd, and are always trying to pump you up.
But yes, by all means I might be interested in other cruises in the future.

Found cruise.com
I found Cruise.com, it looks like they charge only 150%, so that looks like a good option if there are no volunteers in the next month or so.

Hiding behind your fat suit
Are you requesting "straight male only" because you are afraid of girls ? I kid because I hide behind my fat suit too. I looked at your cruise and it sounds GREAT, but wouldn't you like to do a full Panama Canal crossing, maybe a repositioning from Fla. to Cal. or visa versa? If I've peaked your interest, e-mail me at kls1714@netzero.net. Byeya!

I go on cruises in an attempt to relax, so I would like to avoid the stress of air travel. I only want to relax on cruises, so the last thing I want is is a cabin mate with the exact opposite mindset.
As for my fear of girls, it must be so, because I have never been married. It may have something to do with never living in the same place for more than 3 years until my mid 20s. I would only want a female roomate that I have known for quite a while.
