Hi, I'm not planning to cruise again anytime soon, but was just wondering, as I look over the deals, how others work out the details with a stranger that lives too far away to meet beforehand? Add you 2 cents and maybe we'll all learn something.
Like, most travel agents won't let you pay half and half from two credit cards for one room ?? I tried that last trip. One of us just had to trust the other and pay for the whole thing. Is there a way to send money through some type paypal account that holds your money and the other person's together and then once the money is all there, the travel agent can get it ??
I have cruised twice with people I met here on cruisemates and it worked out OK both times, but I will say that you MUST communicate over the phone several times to get a good feel for how compatable you will be. Although, if you both like to do your own thing and can sleep like a baby with a stranger less than 10 feet away, it's not so important that your cabinmate is compatable !
By the way, if you happen to be cruising in south Caribean to Grenada, (Celebrity Summit or Royal Clipper look great to me) or to Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia this fall or winter and need a roommate, look me up again.
