Default Feb 2011 from SC or FL to Caribbean

I'm considering a cruise from Charleston, SC or Port Canaveral, FL to Caribbean, and looking for someone interested in sharing a cabin. I have been on 3 previous cruises and to Europe, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. I'm 47 M/W/F, professional, active, more of an early bird than a night owl, respectful, clean and easy-going. I like the beach, scuba diving and sight-seeing and maybe a little shopping. Looking for someone 40+ to share cabin and maybe some meals and/or activities if you want to. I just want to relax and enjoy some sunshine after the holiday rush and before the busy season at work begins in early March.

Would you be interested in the Feb 7 Carnival Fantasy sailing from Charleston? The itinerary isn't much, but it's 5 days and inside cabins are $299. I live about a day's drive from Charleston. Port Canaveral would probubly be farther than I'd want to drive at this time. I'm more interested in a relatively short cruise to get out of the cold. I'm a M/W/F in my mid-50's. I'm a retired special ed teacher who enjoys the beach, music, scrabble and bananagram, sightseaing, a little shopping, a good book and a good laugh. I don't smoke or snore (that I"m aware of), but am most definitely not a morning person, particularly on vacation. While on a cruise, it would take something very special indeed to get me out of the bed on a cruise before 8. However, my cabinmate would be more than welcome to get up with the chickens if she desired. I do enjoy the shows and the piano bar, and anywhere there is live music, but I wouldn't be coming back to the cabin in the wee hours, slamming doors and making a bunch of racket if my cabinmate had turned in at 9pm, or something. It's short notice, but if you'd be interested in doing the Feb 7 cruise, let me know. It's not a particularly good ship, and definitely not a particularly appealing itinerary, but it's convenient (for me) and cheap and it will get me to where it's WARM, so I can settle.

But remember, it's still A CRUISE. I hope you two find someone. I'm sticking my nose in because of the SCRABBLE remark. Would have enjoyed this, scrabble players are hard to come by. Have you seen Super Scrabble yet? It's double sized with more options.
Meanwhile, back to your cruise search.

I am also a straight married woman but my DH can't travel right now. I would LOVE to take a Caribbean cruise asap...and I'm VERY serious. We're taking a cruise together at the end of February, but I'm open until then. I'm a non-smoker, love to laugh, play board games, trivia and snorkel, but I usually play the ports by ear.

Any interest?

OOPS. I'm posting again because I forgot to subscribe to this thread. Also, can someone tell me how to change my ID?

Carolinagrl

Sounds like we are interested interested in the same things, getting away from "here", and getting warm, and not interested in the same things the fanciness of the ship, the size of the stateroom or whether it has a window or a balcony, or the particular itinerary. But I am a light smoker, but only outdoors or the casino or other designated areas, NOT in the cabin. Is that a problem?

I'm so sorry, but other than that I think we'd get along fine. I am so sensitive to it, it's probably ridiculous. I like to spend time in the casinos too, but only if they're not too smoky. Again, I'm really sorry.

Are you reading correctly? She will not be smoking in the cabin!. I would not cabin smoke either, we have our areas to do that.
So, the casino would have smoke, the cabin would not. You may be eliminating a fine cabin mate.

Lyonskitty,

I'm sorry but I found a cruisemate yesterday and we booked this morning for Bahamas out of Charleston. I may be looking for something in Sept/Oct 2011, after busy season at work ends and when kids go back to school and cruise prices drop again. Maybe we can work something out then if you are still interested, or ready to go again. Thanks so much for your reply and good luck finding a cruisemate!
