Default Fall Transatlantic From Rome

59 y.o. male, straight, easy-going, and considerate looking for a cabinmate from Europe to the States in the Fall. Very interested in the RCCL Mariner of the Seas from Rome to Galveston, but would consider other possibilities. We could spend some time together in Europe before the cruise, also, if you prefer. If interested, please email me at plrharmony@live.com Best Wishes, Peter

Hey that's interesting because I plan to return from Europe in the Fall and might just take a cruise back. Also I'm not far from Galveston so that'd work out great. I'll email you more about that.

Could one of you give me a clue how you get a reasonable one-way airfare for a transatlantic cruise? Does the cruise line have better air rates? I've read that you can not get any one-way airfare from any US airlines on international flights, but you can book one-ways from some European airlines.

I've looked quite awhile on this subject, since I have a friend I'd like to pay for her trip with me and I'd have to fly her home afterward while I stay and travel in Europe awhile. It's really crazy. It makes a HUGE difference if you pick one way or 2 way. You're pretty much forced to lie and get a round trip when you only need a one way. Also it makes a huge difference where you fly to in America. I've found its so much cheaper to get a round trip from Europe to NYC that you can get another flight from NYC to wherever else in America and its still cheaper than the actual city you may want to fly direct to. Like here in Tx its cheaper to go to NYC and then from there to here in Austin. Comes out total to about 720.00 with the added taxes and fees. Oh and from NYC it is cheaper to get a one way than round trip. So that at least makes sense.
Any other way I looked at was often over $2000, it's nuts!
