cruising virgin ready to take the plunge

hi! my name is Micah. 41yr. young swm looking to take my first cruise. because i have not cruised i can't really tell you what kind of cruiser i am. i know i love to get in the sun and have a good time. all the excursions i have seen look so fun. I am open to rooming up with male or female. hoping my first cruise to be in late march or april. i prefer no longer than a 7 day to start (what if i don't like it? though i doubt that will be the case). i don't snore, i am a clean person. i am not rich so i want to make my trips affordable so that i may go on many cruises. i have been looking at the Caribbean for my first trip.
what are some of the more fun port cities as far as the Caribbean?
anyway feel free to ask me any questions or showing potential cruises!
also, any other advice that you might think to be helpful!

cruisemates and the other popular cruising forum website if you google 'cruise ship forum' will give you tons of information. sorry but we aren't allowed to name travel agencies and other cruise fan websites here.
deciding what ports you can leave from, what ships you would like to go on, what cabin class you want, and how much time you need between the booking and sale date is where to start imho.
the 'first time cruisers' and 'destinations' forums here is a good place to start.
