Roomy wanted... Jan 6 for 7 nts to E Caribbean!

Hi,

I was just looking for a cheap and warm getaway and got a great deal I couldn't pass up - $339 for a 7-day cruise leaving out of Miami on January 6th to the Eastern Caribbean (Nassau, Bahamas; Grand Turk Island; LaRomana, Dominican Republic; San Juan, Puerto Rico). The total is only $475 per person after all the additional taxes and port fees.

I already paid for the room and I'm looking for a cruise-mate. I'm a very laid-back, professional, educated, fit and fun, 42yo single white guy in Maryland. I'm also very flexible... a guy or girl roommate is fine... and we can do some things together or not... totally up to you. I'm just looking to get away to the islands and need someone to share the room! If you're interested or have any questions, please let me know. Thanks a lot!

-Tim

P.S. Sorry for the repost... I thought my friend was going to go then he bailed out on me!

Are you still looking for a roomie?

Inside or outside cabin? Perhaps you know the stateroom number so one can look up location on ship.

Thanks!

Cruisejunkie, I sent a message to you!

Well the cabin make or break the cruise? What's the ship? What is the OP doing about the fare for the second person?

To me, no, the cabin does not make or break the cruise. On the only other cruise I ever went on, I had a balcony room but pretty much only used the room to sleep anyway. I kind of thought the extra $ I paid for the balcony was a waste but I understand everyone has his/her own taste. The ship is the Carnival Valor. Sorry if I'm a little slow but I don't know what an OP is? :)

Hi Tim - ttilert,

Ruthlessboss wants to know if you, the OP (original poster) are offering the room for a discount to a potential cabinmate, or if you would want the person to pay their half of the total cost.

If you don't mind going solo, I'd suggest asking for the cabin mate to pay you or the travel agent their share before you add them to your room. you can always thank them later on board by buying their drinks, excursions or other things if you want to.

Oh... thanks for the clarification, Edwin!

I did this once before but I was the one who bought the spot from the person who had already paid for the room. Our deal worked out really well so I thought I would try the same format. I just want to split to the cost of the room and would want $475 or half of the $950 I paid for the room. You (prospective roomie) would pay half of the 475 up-front (so I can trust you) and you can pay me the other half on the ship (so you can trust me!) Hope that cleared things up and is acceptable to a prospective roomie out there. Like I said, this format worked out super well when I shared a cabin with a lady out of Denver!
