Oceania Nautica 2/21/13 - China, here we come!!
Nancy and I are very excited about our 45th cruise! This time, we've chose to give Oceania a try for the first time and will be sailing on the Nautica for 17 nights, which will be the longest cruise we've done.
We're flying out on Monday, February 18th to Hong Kong, where we'll be staying for 2 nights at the Hyatt Regency Kowloon before boarding our ship on Feb 21st. After spending the night on the ship in Hong Kong, we'll be going to Taipei for two days; Okinawa for a day; Kobe, Japan for two days; Hiroshima for a day; Shanghai for two days; Seoul, Korea for a day; and finally to Beijing for two days. We'll get off the ship and then spend 2 more nights at the Renaissance.
The really great thing is that we get to spend a day with our daughter, who is serving a 6-month deployment with the Navy in Okinawa, so we're really looking forward to that.
We've also secured a private 2-day tour of Beijing, so we'll get to see all the magnificent sites in that amazing city.
Needless to say, this is an awesome itinerary and we're really looking forward to exploring places we've never seen before. I'll definitely be keeping notes so I can write a cruise review when we return on March 13th.
This was an amazing cruise and we're so glad we did it. While Oceania was very good, I would not put it up there with the other luxury-class companies like Crystal. Personally, I felt it was a little overpriced for what you get and the food was not up to the hype.
But visiting Beijing was awesome - got to see the Great Wall!!
We've been very busy playing catch-up since we got back, but I hope to have a detail cruise review written within the next week or so.
If you have any questions, ask away!
