I am from Germany and visiting my host family in the US.
I would really like to do an Alaskan cruise but the problem is that I am too young to do it on my own. I am 19. You have to be at least 21 to travel on your own.. Too bad since I love traveling!
Now I am trying to find someone who would like to do an Alaskan cruise with me (since they are so cheap!), who would share a room and at the same time approve to be my guardian so I can go on the boat.
As far as I informed myself they say that would be possible and I would have to bring forms that my parents filled out saying they are giving permission so I can do this. And of course my cruisemate and at the same time guardian would have to sign that they are responsible.
I don't really understand why people with the age of 18 and older aren't allowed to go. I don't drink alcohol anyways.
But the cruise might be the only cheap way to see Alaska. And I am dying to go there.
I would like to travel somewhere between September and October 2013.
I would like to have a roundtrip from Seattle and my Budget is under a 1000$.
This would be my first cruise, so I don't really care what line. I just want to see Alaska that way.
Maybe someone here in this forum already made experiences that way and can help.
If it would work out or if someone of the female solo travelers is interested I am happy to get in contact with you and even explore Alaska while not being on board.
