New to Cruising for the first time on Holland America
Hi my name is Adam and I'm a Student from Universal Technical Institute in Orlando,Florida and this year will be my first time cruising with Holland America so what should I expect or not expect when cruising out of the Port of Seattle to Alaska on May the 6th and Dock back in Seattle on the 17th I'm just really nervous because I've never been on a cruise ship before as I usually fly when I travel to different states...so feedback would be helpful thanks..
First, hopefully you booked this with an agent and they will spend as much time as you need answering alot of your questions to relieve some of your anxiety.
With that said, in my professional opinion, Holland America does Alaska better than everyone else. They've been doing it longer and have a bigger presence than the other cruise lines, so they know how to do it right.
However, keep in mind that Holland America attracts an older demographic. Being in our 60's, it's a cruise line that we love because they offer great food, very good service, and wonderful ships. But if you're alot younger, you may find it a bit too sedate and laid back for your liking. They don't have the really active late-night party clubs, rock climbing walls, and bowling allies you'll find on other cruise ships.
But sailing Alaska is awesome! Just make sure you talk to your agent about shore excursions, preferably not through the cruise line. There are some wonderful things to do and places to see. It truly is a magical place.
