I, too, am a Vietnam Veteran and this has nothing to do with your cruise, but just wanted to say thank you for your service!! My daughter is in the Navy (E5) and has been in for the last 8 years - she wants to make it a career.

Welcome home, brother!!

Pete

Well, not to steal focus on the sight for your original post of looking for a cruise mate, this is a big point for me, too, and I agree with what you said.

We did not want to be there, but we went anyway because we were proud to serve our country. It is because of what we did and the way we were treated that the service & sacrifice of our current and future veterans will always be appreciated and remembered no matter the political beliefs. "Never again will one generation of veterans abandoned another!" What is a Veteran? A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to and including their life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand what honor is. And they surely don't understand who should have bestowed upon them the honor of being called a hero. "For there is no greater love hath a man than to lay down his life for another." Veterans and first responders are the ones that should be held in the highest regard as role models and heroes, not the sports figures, politicians, or TV personalities who make obscene amounts of money, who only care about themselves, and who never put their lives on the line.

Pete (Vietnam Veteran, 1970 - 1971)

Hi,

Another Vietnam vet here that loves to cruise. Not up for this one but always looking for a cruise mate for future cruises. I normally cruise Princess which does take care of the Vets. Would love to hear from you and if interested talk about cruising together sometime. I am retired from the Air Force and single.

Enjoy the cruise - sounds interesting.

Bob
