Default closed stores??

i have heard a nasty rumor that st martin,our port for new yrs day on our cruisemates golden princess cruise may be closed for the holiday..anyone have any first hand experience? maybe the captain will opt to make this a day at sea.

Trip this is a very good question. Did you ask Kuki or the TA who has booked the group? Seems someone should be able to get an answer.

Sometimes cruise lines will alter the intinerary by a day to accommodate holidays. For instance, I was on a Thanksgiving cruise that was supposed to visit St. Thomas (a U.S. island) on turkey day. Instead, they took us to Tortola and we went to St. Thomas the next day. Perhaps they'll give you a day at sea for New Year's and you'll visit St. Maarten afterwards if the schedule allows.

It's not always possible to do this, but they try if they can. If not, St. Maarten has some beautiful beaches, so just chill out and work on your tan. Think of the money you'll save! ;-)
