Hi - We are taking our first trip to Mexica Riviera in Dec. I've seen online that leather is a great deal in Mazatlan. Has anyone bought leather clothing while in Mexico and, if so, was it (1) well-crafted and (2) truly a bargain (compared to the US)??? My son is very interested in a leather trenchcoat - any idea re price range?? Thanks for any help you can provide!
When we were in Mexico we were advised to be very careful when purchasing leather goods. The quality of some items were suspect. Just remember you get what you pay for. Have a great trip, I am sure you will love it. We will be going to the Mexican Riveria again when we cruise the Panama Canal.
Pleas be aware that to be called leather a product must only have 10% of leather in it. This is how people sell Real Leather so cheap it is not 100% leather. People see the leather sign on an article and assume it is real and it is not. They grind up leather add lots of junk run it through a machine and it comes out looking like leather. Guenine leather will not tear easily, and has a nap on the back side.
I can't answer your question regarding leather, sorry. What caught my attention about your topic was that you plan to sail in Dec. My husband and I are taking our children (daughter 13 and son 11) on their first cruise on Dec. 16 onboard the Elation to the Mexican Riviera. Is that the same cruise you and your family are taking? If so, what are the ages of your children?
