You would have to tie me up and leave me in the cabin.

I can buy something in any store I go in to. It's a running joke with my husband and myself.

How can you resist St. Thomas and all those jewelry stores. Not I. I'm dreaming of all that jewelry before my next cruise next Friday.

I hit every store and feel cheated if I don't.

Well, my friends........just what are the "must haves" to shop for in Alaska? I'm not thinking jewelry there! Should I ? I'm anticipating a lovely leather photo album for all the pictures, wonderful, beautiful books, etc. Martha

Hi Martha,
You'll see lots of lovely wood carvings, and of course totem poles. For some reason I wanted to bring back a crystal totem pole, and since we went in early Sept., much of the inventories were pretty much gone, but I did finally find one on our last stop in Ketchikan, in fact it was my favorite shopping port. Have fun shopping, I sure did!

I have. I could easily go on a cruise and not shop at all, as long as I got to go diving. And buying the T-shirt from the dive operator doesn't count as shopping.

There was a joke I heard on a cruise; in every port a woman buys either jewelry, clothing, art, or nicknaks while her husband buys a T shirt so he can tell everybody he accompanied his wife shopping! It is nice to see all the sights in all the ports but it is also nice to bring back that nice momento of where you have been!
