Shopping in San Juan?

We are cruising on 2/8 and have a fairly early flight into San Juan for a 10:00 PM departure. I was wondering if the shopping was good there or should we just get on the boat and wait to shop in St Thomas.

There is certainly no reason you can't walk up the hill from the pier and check out the shops in Old San Juan. There will be a different assortment of shops here than in St Thomas.

I have found the shops in San Juan to be somewhat more expensive than in St. Thomas. I love to shop, and I love shopping in St. Thomas!

Don't just stay on the boat. You will miss so much in Old San Juan

Bob, We are also going on the Destiny on 2/8. Our flight gets there at 3:25, we are looking forward to shopping at all the ports, my husband hates to shop but he will go with me. Where are you coming from?

Part of the problem when shopping in the islands is that you have to make up your mind whether you buy whats in front of you now, or you wait till the next port...When the store is a chain, there may be a chance the next one will have the same item, but its a chance you take...If the item you like is an ordinary piece, you may find waiting a plus..BUT if the item is a killer piece, and you are happy with the price, then do it..I would also make sure you understand the return policy of the store you are buying from.If by chance you do buy from a chain store in SJ..I am sure when you arrive in the other ports,, that same chain store will make an exchange for something you may like better...
