what to get in W Carib?

Hi! We're heading to Cozumel, Isla Roatan and Belize, wondering about gifts/souvenirs I can get there (wanting to put a little of my money into the local economy). I'm hoping not to exploit their natural resources, though, I don't want to contribute to their problems, lol -so no mahogany, black coral, etc.

Anyone shopped in these places who can give advice on more eco-friendly local wares/crafts?Also, are there certain "endangered" things besides the above that I should be sure to AVOID buying?
