Shopping in Nassau?

How is the shopping in Nassau?
Can you really find some unique stuff?
How about any nice looking knockoffs (Gucci, Rolex, ect...)?

I got two great knock off pocketbooks, a Coach and a Gucci, for $50.00 for both. The woman first wanted $65.00 for the Coach and $70.00 for the Gucci. I put both bags back on the shelf and walked away. She came up to me and said, "Let's talk." Boy did we ever talk!!!!! The trick is not to let them see how interested you are in the product. Part of the fun of shopping in the straw market is to haggle. As for unique stuff, my DH found and purchased the greatest handcarved motorcycle statue. It was from a small shop on the left as soon as you leave the port area. We also purchased a beautiful handpainted tile with a sunset scene on it from a young lady inside the port terminal. If you look hard and be patient, you can get some great bargains.

Have fun haggling. My mom and daughter truly appreciated the pocketbooks. Only problem was I didn't get one for me. Guess I'll have to cruise again.

MY SISTER AND I ARE GOING ON OUR FIRST CRUISE TO FREEPORT AND NASSAU BAHAMAS. MY DAUGHTER WANTS US TO PICK HER UP 2 COACH OR D.B. PURSES. WHERE WOULD I FIND THESE ITEMS AT IN NASSAU?

If you want the 'real thing' you will be able to find the upscale shops in the main area of town. If you want 'spin-offs', they are located in the outdoor shopping area (like a flea market). The spin-offs look really good!
