Default Seashells/coral in eastern carribean shops?

Cruising to San Juan, Turks, St. Thomas and Bermuda in a few weeks. Wondering if there are any "shell shops" or the like in any of these ports. Thanks for any info you have.

They all sell some sort of shells at all the tourist shops - however, they are not from the island themselves. Imported from other companies.

Best bet? Hit the beach & pick your own shells. At least you're guaranteed its from that island.

Default She sell seashells

We were in Old San Juan, St. Thomas and Antigua: didn't see much you don't see elsewhere--junk stuff. Best bet: take a couple of extra days after your cruise and head out to Sanibel Island, FL. Best shelling in the world!
Bon Voyage!

I'm not sure if my info is current, but black coral was on the list of things that it is illegal to bring back in the US several years ago. They used to actually "farm" it, so it was constantly replenished, but a hurricane wiped out most of what was there and it became endangered.
Somebody correct me...PLEASE...I would love to get some more coral.

You probably left and came back, but I'll say this anyhow.

I bought some shells at a store in Havensight Mall in St. Thomas, a bit pricy, but interesting...Captain something or other name. It's in Havensight so you should be able to find it.

Grand Turk has a "stall" that sells conch shells for around $20 each. They also have carved shells and bits of shells to choose from. I found some coral in the sand while walking on the beach and brought it home. Grand Turk will be your best bet for shell/coral beachcombing. DO not take any conch shells from the beach, you will have to buy them or you will have them taken away because they don't know if you went diving and picked it up from the waters around the island, which are a national marine park.

Good luck!

Grand Turk cruise center has a small shop that sells conch shells. They have whole shells, sliced pieces of shells, and carved shells--I ALMOST spent $50 on a shell carbed into the shape of a waying palm until I noticed the price!

The beach at Grand Turk is littered with coral fragments, shells, and other stuff. Go for a walk down the beach and see what you can find!

St. Thomas had a shop in Havensight that sold some shells. It was Captain something or other.
