Default Jewerly shops in Nassau?

Are there any good ones I should go to? Are they near the pier?

I need to replace a gold Australian opal bracelet that I lost.

Two places I love in Nassau, are John Bull, an elegant shop with marble floors, & a baby grand, if you can believe it!

They have a great perfume dept, carry designer handbags, and beautiful jewlery and watches. They do carry Yurman, and a fabulous Israeli deisgner, Yvel..I bought one of his rings..to die for! 284 Bay Street.242-322-4253

The other shop is King Solomons Mines, they have a couple of stores on Bay Street as well....

On the other sidde of the streeyt is a cute boutique, Coles of Nassau, that carries Lilly Pullitzer, and other cute clothes, and also has some cute shoes....Happy Sales!

Ug! All of their shops were a joke! Out of all the jewerely shops I went into - which was all of them! Only 1 shop had the jewerely I was looking for & even then, they only had 4 bracelets to choose from.

HUGE disappointment. I thought they would have a large amount of the opal I was searching for like the rest of the caribbean does.

Cassandra, I wonder what shop you were in...There are TONS, of fabulous baubles available in Nassau.

As far as haggling in John Bull, it's worth a shot, especially, if you paying cash!

True, they do have everything else you are looking for, but none of them carried Australian opal bracelets. It's a fairly common stone on all the other caribbean islands, so I was really super surprised.

They had tons of those mixed with tanzanite on rings & such, but I was looking for the opal alone.

I did manage to get a bracelet, haggled them down to $400 for it (they wanted $1200). But I expect to pay about that amount, its not a cheap stone.
