Shopping in Progresso

Any recommendations to shops and items to buy in Progresso?

Not much there to buy, actually. There is an area right off the ship that turned out to have pretty good prices, but all typical Mexican stuff, as in tons of silver. Even having been to Mexico dozens of times, I still found some earrings that I loved. There is a craft area in town, but I was not enticed at all and not really any good shops that we could find walking around.

Progress is catching up with Progreso. They are constructing a new area which will contain 'modern' stores. I like the crafts myself. There is a charity group that sell nice folk style bags on the main drag. They are popular.
