Two things I will tell you that I found in my research.

The first is there any outlets where the Prada and other brands are discounts sometimes up to 70%. Here is the website http://www.mcarthurglen.it/castelromano/home/home.php Here is the newspaper article I based this on. http://www.boston.com/travel/article..._within_reach/ In fact Mcarthurglen has three outlets in italy here is a website to show the three.

Second, beware of fakes it is a crime in italy to sell or buy fakes and you can be fined up to 1000 euros. I hope that helps you. :D

Go to Nordstrom, half the price.
No deals in Italy are worth the exchange rate of $1.60 US for $1 Euro.
Infact, you will pay an additional Tax when you declare your goods in customs.

You can reclaim part of the VAT tax by filing forms and making purchases at specific retailers. Note: the exchange rate at banks will pay $1 Euro for $1.60 US, exchange offices will charge a flat fee and reduced exchange rates. Credit Card companies will charge around 3% service charge on top of exchange rate.
Value Added Tax is extra!!!!!!
In most cases, VAT is 20%.
There are reduced rates of VAT of 4% and 10% on basic products.
VAT is charged on assets and services in Italy as well as on imports into Italy.
VAT returns are made monthly. In certain cases, it is possible to make a return once a quarter.
An annual VAT return must be filed once every year on March 15.
If you want your rebate, you must file VAT doc's at custome prior to departure from Italy.

Wow here's a thread from the past. If anyone is still looking for cheaper Prada in Italy, go to the outlet outside of Florence. LV is cheaper in France than in the US so I'm sure Prada would be too even at just a regular store.
